i'm looking for a children's picture book (published before 2016). it had soft watercolor illustrations and featured an orange/ginger rabbit in a forest. i remember the rabbit being magically punished at the end by becoming covered in colorful paint splatters or spots that stayed on its fur. i think there may have been wishes or a fairy involved, but i'm less certain about that. my elementary school art teacher showed a short film adaptation around 2015–2020, and years later i saw the matching picture book with the same spotted rabbit on the cover. the cover itself kind of scared me as a kid. i could be misremembering some details, but i've been trying to find it forever!

i really feel like this conversation should be had. so:

what’s next? as in, how is she gonna keep living as a skeleton? it literally blows my mind that she’s still able to move around, so how does this work? she’s been compared to karen carpenter, who died while recovering because her body was still in low-energy survival mode. she gained weight and her body was overwhelmed by the amount of weight she gained, even if it wasn’t a lot, and she died.

i just feel like AG is surrounded by yes men who enable whatever’s going on. so, how can she safely recover after this? how’s that gonna work?

especially sophia. she’s literally the only one addressing the manon situation as opposed to… the COMPANY? so then she gets loads of hate instead of… the company…

along with their horrible hair, styling, music. this company sees each of these girls as jokes. they don’t value them enough to give them actually good songs, they sexualize them for gooners to get off to, they manufacture hate trains, then make the girls address them. i want all of them to realize this will not last. they bought into a dream and they got scammed BAD.

it’s just all a big joke.

i’m new to this sub and i definitely am being exposed to how much she’s done. my thing with AG is that she’s so subtle. like, she throws rocks and hides her hands. learning about the entire dr. lilly jay and 🧽 fiasco was absolutely insane.

i spent like an hour scrolling through this sr and i’m gagged, truly. so, please answer the question and PLEASE do explain in the replies. i’m so intrigued.

mods take this down if it breaks any of the rules. i’m NOT policing what people are posting, nor am i trying to criticize the sub. i like it here. i’m criticizing the conversations and microaggressive language people are using. with that….

i 100% understand the dislike toward the girls. i agree with pretty much every point made against each of them. i’ve made dozens of comments and posts about how unprofessional, boring, untalented and immature they all are. i personally think they lack the it factor and talent to be what they so desperately want to. criticism is criticism. i hate on lara all the time, no shade!

what i don’t understand is how comfortable some of y’all have gotten saying blatantly microaggressive things about manon?

calling a black woman “a white girl in a black girl’s body” is insane. most of the people making these comments are not black. you do not get to decide who is “black enough” based on whether they fit your personal expectations.
manon grew up in switzerland with her white mother in a place where she’s surrounded by white people. she is biracial. obviously her relationship to blackness is going to look different than someone who grew up in a fully black american, caribbean, or african household.

some of the discussions around her have gone so far beyond criticism that they’re just policing her identity. non-black people are policing that girls background because she doesn’t perform blackness in the way people want her to.

honestly the fact that comments like that are allowed to stay up says a lot. if the goal is criticism, then moderate the discussions accordingly? if the goal is just seeing how far people can push personal attacks under the guise of “snark” then that’s a different conversation entirely.
there is a huge difference between “i don’t like manon” and “i think i get to determine whether this black woman is actually black enough” i don’t care if you think she’s disconnected from her dad’s culture or that she surrounds herself with non black people, those criticisms are objectively true.

you can think i’m being a fan for this, i truly dgaf. stop tryna cross a line you have no business being near.

saying this as a fully black woman. conversations like these harbor racism and real stereotypes against black people, i doubt anyone is actually thinking about how much WE are affected.

and if you take this as me defending her… lawd.
