Daniela has no star power

Daniela has no star power

HXG keeps pushing her as the front girl but I can’t see it, just imagine her alone on stage, it’s giving nothing. Like it was once told to Adela in DA “she’ll be better as a soloist” well I think Daniela is the type of person who works better in a group, same thing with Megan, if HXG don’t let racism blind them, they should starts to invest more in Lara or Sophia, but of course Daniela will always be prioritized because Missy is biased and because she’s the whitest.

Manon not having black friends?

I’ve seen this discourse come up a few times on other platforms and i’m curious on knowing what y’all takes are on why Manon has no black friends?

A common misconception is that if a mixed-race Black person has not even one black friend, they must be “rejecting their Black side” or “think they’re better than Black people.

This is not true imo, but I find it interesting that an individual who talks so much about her black side and racial identity and experiences growing up it’s quite surprising seeing a black girl not have any black friends.

This is not a diss to Manon, and not in anyway invalidating her black identity whatsoever. Maybe it’s just a different environment but i’m yet to meet a black woman who has not one black friend. It could just be her friends are who she connects with regardless of race. But I thought it would be an interesting conversation from what is usually spoke about on this sub

Everything is about them

This is so sad. It just proves how shallow their fans are. How can they make everything about katseye? They even have the audacity to make something so serious all about themselves. Like, how?

after katseye what likely will happen

manon: gabriette 2.0

  • gabriette scouted for her aesthetic for nasty cherry (making a band tv show) -> netflix -> then became an influencer
  • manon is going down this exact path
  • also GENERALLY in history of ggs in the west, the first to leave gets the narrative/large chunk of media attention

yoonchae

  • redebut solo or in another hybe group in korea -> Sakura (Miyawaki Sakura) debuted at age 24 so yoonchae still has time to debut in another group

megan

  • niche work?

daniela

  • niche work or stunt casting, maybe some tv work
  • don't see her as a wildly successful solo act if that ever happen

sophia

  • broadway/musical work
  • maybe working back in the philippines again

lara

  • maybe some success? tbh idk her dad/mom are in the music industry w/ connections but her sister can't break 1 mil listeners on spotify

I don't think any of the girls would be breakout mainstream famous music artists after katseye

Manon: people are saying she's the beyonce of the group which obviously isn't true talent wise, but people have also been using it as in "she will be the breakout soloist of the group" wise, which again i also disagree, she just seems like she wants to get wants to be an influencer,

maybe some modeling and acting gigs but that's about it.

Sophia: she's the 2nd most forgettable after yoonchae, she could be famous in the Philippines but nowhere else, I'm pretty sure she even said "im gonna do Broadway after katseye, I don't know when I'm going to do it but I'm going to do it just give me time"

Daniela: again I don't see any musical potential in her, maybe she would be an actress and do some dancing gigs, but definitely not music

Lara: she's honestly probably the MOST LIKELY to break out, but I feel like she would have a normani situation where her record label has no idea how to market her and she flops

Megan: she's doesn't stand out and I feel like she would probably do some acting here and there maybe become a fashion designer i really have no fucking clue

Yoonchae: she could succeed in the Korean market but like Sophia nowhere else, MAYBE she could redebut in a kpop group but that's unlikely as unfortunately the kpop industry is ageist, she's definitely the most forgettable so I can't imagine her being a soloist, she did mention if she wasn't in katseye she would be an actress

What do yall think?

Yoonchaes styling compared to the other girls

What is it with their stylists and putting these girls in stuff that matches their skin color and also stuff that look like underwear.
Im genuinely SO weirded out by what they made yoonchae wear cuz those are not pants that should be worn by anyone…
Putting her in stuff that makes her look almost naked when she’s barely 18 is so gross. Im not just saying this cuz shes the youngest, honestly, if it was any of the other girls it STILL wouldve been weird.

#Dumb stupid theory / prediction

Calling it now: Saint Satine is gonna get everything Eyekons begged HYBE to give Katseye.

First of all, if somebody's already made this theory before, my bad. I genuinely haven't seen it, so don't accuse me of stealing somebody else's post.

Also, this is literally just me connecting dots. I could be completely wrong. I'm not claiming I know HYBE's plans or have some insider source. This is just a prediction that's been sitting in my head for a while.

Anyway...

I genuinely think HYBE accidentally made Katseye the beta test, and Saint Satine is about to be the finished product.

Ever since Katseye debuted, Eyekons have been asking for the exact same shit.

Better music.

Better concepts.

Better creative direction.

Songs that don't sound like someone locked a room full of marketing executives in a boardroom and asked them what'll trend on TikTok this week.

Katseye actually started off with a pretty clear identity. SIS(Soft is strong) : Touch, My Way... whether you liked those songs or not, at least there was a consistent direction.

Then Gnarly happened.

And ever since then it feels like HYBE's entire strategy has been chasing virality.

Gnarly gave us fried chicken and boba tea.

Internet Girl gave us eat zucchini.

Then Pinky Up hit us with shaking ass at the parking lot.

Lmao Like... come on

At some point it stops feeling quirky and starts feeling like somebody wrote the lyrics after doomscrolling their FYP for three hours.

Even Gabriela, which a lot of people point to as this huge musical upgrade, wasn't exactly some brand-new masterpiece. It was basically a Rita Ora/Anitta reject that landed with Katseye. And because Katseye rarely gets songs that are genuinely vocally challenging, I've noticed Lara and Sophia often throw in extra runs, switch up notes or add little ad-libs during performances to make the stages feel fuller. Nothing wrong with that at all—it actually makes the performances more interesting—but it also shows they're squeezing as much as they can out of songs that don't always give them a lot to work with.

Now compare that to what I think Saint Satine is gonna get.

I honestly don't think they're gonna debut with songs about fried chicken, boba tea or eating zucchini.

I think they're gonna get the songs Eyekons have literally been asking HYBE to give Katseye since day one.

Better production.

More cohesive concepts.

A stronger identity.

Better styling.

Better makeup.

Probably better outfits too. I wouldn't be surprised if HYBE steers away from some of the styling choices that got Katseye criticized early on.

Even from what we've heard so far, We Ride and Party Before the Party already feel like they're aiming in a different direction. We Ride wasn't the greatest song ever made or anything, but it felt more cohesive than a lot of Katseye's recent TikTok-coded releases.

And that's where I think the mess starts.

The comparisons are gonna be absolutely unavoidable.

Every other post is gonna be:

Saint Satine got the songs Katseye deserved.

Why couldn't Katseye have this concept?

HYBE suddenly remembered what good A&R looks like?

Why does the newer group have the stronger rollout?

It's gonna be nonstop.

And let's be honest, HYBE isn't exactly gonna lose sleep over that.

Bad publicity is still publicity.

Fanwars generate engagement.

Engagement generates streams.

Streams generate money.

Whether people are praising Saint Satine or dragging them, everyone's still talking about HYBE's groups.

The member comparisons are gonna be even worse.

I can already see people comparing every single position.

Lara/Sophia vs Samara/Lexie.

Yoonchae vs Sakura

Daniela vs Emily.

Every fancam is gonna become another debate thread.

Sakura is probably gonna be under the biggest microscope. There was already so much discourse around her being in the lineup over Ayana, and people have been extremely critical of her performances ever since. Whether she's improved or not, I can already see every stage turning into another round of comparisons and arguments.

Emily's probably gonna get dragged over vocals too, while at the same time people might praise her dancing. I also wouldn't be shocked if HYBE lets her contribute to choreography at some point. That would give Saint Satine another angle that people would immediately compare to Katseye.

Meanwhile the company gets exactly what it wants.

Everybody's arguing.

Everybody's posting.

Everybody's streaming.

Everybody's picking sides.

My biggest theory is that Katseye was never supposed to be the final blueprint.

They were the experiment.

HYBE got to test what worked, what didn't, what fans liked, what fans hated and what generated the most engagement.

Now Saint Satine gets to debut after all those lessons have already been learned.

If I'm even half right, Saint Satine ends up with the stronger music, stronger concepts and a much more polished creative direction, while Katseye keeps getting increasingly trend-driven releases.

Maybe Katseye still has big hits. Maybe they don't. I honestly have no idea.

But I could see a future where Katseye gradually becomes known as that generation's "TikTok girl group" while Saint Satine becomes the group people point to for stronger music and a more cohesive identity. I also wouldn't be surprised if more casual Eyekons slowly start paying attention to Saint Satine—not because they suddenly hate Katseye, but because they're finally getting the kind of music they've been asking HYBE to give Katseye from the beginning.

Again, I could be completely off.

But if Saint Satine debuts and the immediate reaction is why wasn't Katseye getting this level of music and creative direction?...

I'm not gonna be surprised in the slightest.

The hashtag "Manon was the problem" is trending on tiktok

Not so surprised but what do u think triggered this?

In my opinion people saw it for what it is. It was indeed a little late to grasp for some people but most people understood it now and stopped blaming the members calling out hybe, Manon's patterns and her parasocial fans bc it gets to point.

Everytime I scroll I see people sharing their perspective saying this is what she wanted. Just fame and no work and others saying if Manon can't speak up and say what her problem is then neither can her bandmates and others irritated at the parasocial behavior ongoing since February. All these losers making tiktok videos abt Manon being the victim will soon regret it.

KATSEYE will and/or should disband within the next 4 years.

Katseyes entire brand/image has been somewhat of an issue ever since they released gnarly, which showed extreme backlash and criticism due to a complete change in the style quite abruptly. However they still had that group effect that kept it working despite the change in aesthetic. However, the manon situation has really just fucked up the entire groups image like for every single girl except for yoonchae. I dont believe they will last, even is manon does come back from hiatus, from Sophia in interviews to Daniela’s fathers comments its never going to work and now after the situation, that “sisterhood” look the girls had is now gone and they look like they don’t genuinely like each other and struggling to get along with each other. Like everyone is competing for a no.1 spot. I think katseye should just disband or replace the girls the group has nothing good going for them and it doesn’t look like it will get better. They’re probably forced to sing trashy songs, their own mouths and family members are engaging in drama. It’s truly a hot mess that doesn’t look like it can be fixed. I see katseye as a group on a huge downward spiral if it keeps going like this. I believe their hype will die down IMMENSELY just because of the drama and will soon pivot into a disband. They’re very beautiful, talented girls and should have the opportunity to succeed in whatever category but they will NOT find it while being in a group together like this with this drama. Just my opinion tho

that allure video was a hot mess

i've only watched the video once, but every time i see clips of it, i'm irritated. constantly talking over each other, lara and megan having private conversations, not even listening/responding to what the other members are saying??? i'm into kpop and there's plenty of groups that scream co-worker vibes, but they AT LEAST keep it professional and can stay mature. these girls can't even be professional co-workers, let alone friends. you'd think with manon gone it would maybe improve, or at least they would try to be aware of how they come across in interviews etc, but instead they act like popular mean girls in high school.

Megan

She doesn’t have much star quality about her but I find she comes more alive when she’s just dancing ( I personally enjoy watching her dance over Dani 😬). I lowkey think she would make a great background dancer in the future. I can’t see her being a successful solo artist cause watching her sing and dance at the same time is a hot mess for the most part. Maybe she could be a choreographer too idk

Yoonchae's future

Do you see Yoonchae would last long in the group? Or will she eventually abandons global group audience once katseye disbands?

I'm not a fan of Yoonchae but sometimes I felt pity for her. She seems quiet and didn't get to talk much, it's mostly Lara and Sophia who cut her talking, or even the Megan allegedly bullying her rumors just because she doesn't understand English. I know she's been trying, but I also saw she didn't seem enjoy her time much in this group and west...

u/Enough-Seat-8634 — 15 hours ago

The cyber hate and bullying the other girls are getting.

I dont usually follow indepth issues. But it was manon's birthday recently. Saw how the members didn't wish her on their story which is TOTALLY fine. They might have done it personally as I don't think it allows them to talk about each other. The manon stans are crazy! Megan and laras post where filled with hatred. Ever comment was OH YOU CALLED HER SIS AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN WISH HER. LIKE?????? How do u know they didn't.

The girls are working hard no matter how terrible the music can be to some. But these girls do work to keep the group going and be relevant. They are thriving because they are active. Yes manon could have her issues but her close friends comment on the katseyes page just reeked of mean high school immaturity.

Its sad to see these girls get so much hate for the things they didn't even had a choice for.

Group w/o Manon

I like Manon I think she’s beautiful and charismatic, but I don’t think she was ever meant to be a performer. Her missing a lot during DA definitely was foreshadowing.

I have to say, the group looks so much better to me without her. I was watching the Iconic by Mistake music video and I just can’t see her fitting in there. I feel like she was weighing the group down in terms of skill. She really, really cannot sing. Idk why most people can’t tell that most of her lines are prerecorded. More than any of the rest.

That said, I hope she’s doing okay especially if it was a toxic work environment, which I’m sure it is.

Damn. This is so rare but people are actually speaking out about the unfair favoritism bf babying she gets

Also thank goodness im not the only who feels part of the only reason she got in was because she was black. If she was any other race they’re choice would have been anyone else. Probably marquise
