So hey guys. 18F. And this year i think in December I have my 12th farewell.

So girls usually wear a Saree on their farewells but I don't want to. I've never worn a saree and idk i wear trad clothes during pujas and stuff but it's kurtis. I am thinking of wearing a kurti but somehow it is disturbing for my friends and my seniors.

The thing is I am not comfortable in wearing a saree (DON'T GET ME WRONG THERE'S NO HARM IN WEARING ONE I JUST DON'T WANT TO CAUSE I'VE NEVER WORN ONE)

So many people suggested why not try it before hand so that i will get used to it by December but 😭 is it really necessary to wear it? I am not trying to be a pick me (some people said i was being one) i just want to wear a saree when i REALLY FEEL like it.

A girl told me i was a wanna-be angrez 😭 for this.

My seniors told me "mere se saree pehenwa kar hi rahengi" 😭

My mom is okay with my decision and she told me even she wore a kurti in her time but at that time her friends also wore kurtis. I don't HAVE ANYONE IN MY CLOSE PROXIMITY not wearing a saree and now i am getting anxiety cause ik i will get bashed and thrashed that day.

(Yes ik it's JUNE and farewell's in DECEMBER but YES i am terrified af)

So yep can y'all tell me whether girls wear something other than saree on farewells ( kurtis and stuff) or is it really that bad/disrespectful to not wear one?
