Apparently 2 miles is too close for me to drive now

I used to drive to CVS every single time even though it's barely 2 miles from my place. My excuse was always that I'd probably end up buying more than I planned and wouldn't wanna carry everything home.

Got a MUXI a while back and now I feel ridiculous getting in the car for stuff like that. I put a basket up front and actually started using the rear rack, so even my "just need toothpaste" CVS runs are fine.

Went in for toothpaste last week and came back with shampoo, paper towels, gatorade, takis and sour patch kids lol. Fit everything without thinking about it.

Now anything within like 2-3 miles automatically feels like a bike trip.

Family trip in Yosemite

My parents came to visit me in the US, so I took them on a road trip from San Francisco through Yosemite and then up to Lake Tahoe. Before they flew over, I set up esim with local number in their phones. They still prefer regular phone calls over whatsapp, so this was easier for them.

Neither of them wanted a full hiking trip, so I planned one proper walk and kept the rest of the day loose.

We got to Yosemite Valley around 10am and parked near Yosemite Valley Lodge. I would park once and use the shuttle instead of driving between stops. We took it to Happy Isles and started the Mist Trail around 11.

We went up toward Vernal Fall but did not continue farther. The whole thing took a little over two hours with photo stops, water breaks, and my parents asking how much farther every ten minutes.

After that, we took the shuttle to Curry Village and had a late lunch at Deck Pizza. We then went back to the car and stopped at Tunnel View on the way out.

A few things that helped, download the park map and screenshot the shuttle stops before entering. Signal comes and goes inside the valley, so I did not want to rely one loading everything there. Bring water and food even if you plan to eat inside the park because lunch can end up much later than planned.

Also, do not add another hike just because it looks close on the map. We considered Taft Point, but it would have added around two hours, and we still had the drive to Lake Tahoe.

We left Yosemite in the afternoon and reached Incline Village around 9pm. That was already a long enough day for everyone.

My neighbors probable hated me for running my pool robot at night. Switched to quieter one and problem solved

I run my pool robot at 4am. Just got used to waking up to a clean pool instead of waiting around for it to finish. Old one was loud though. Like, embarrassingly loud. My neighbors house is right next to the pool and I'm sure they heard it. Felt bad every time I hit start. Picked up a scuba v3 a few weeks back. It's quieter than the old one. Not silent but quiet enough that no one notices. Set the timer and it just does its thing while every is still asleep. Really glad I made the switch and it makes me wonder if the loud noise was just my old unit wearing out.
