Over it

So many issues to list over the past couple of years so let me save you the headache;

* got internet, liked it, added four unlimited mobile lines. All good.

*moved cross country- no internet available at new address. Kept the mobile lines. You’re unable to update the shipping or service address when attached to an initial Internet account apparently - ever. As far as I know you’d have to cancel and start new which with unpaid phones on 4 lines wasn’t happening.

*paid off two went to order another device at current address. Called to confirm shipping address and was assured it was correct. Device ships to old address anyway (via tracking). Call again and cancel it due to spectrums fault, got apologies and assurances it was handled. Then charged a cancelation fee that took more time to get reversed.

*decided I was over it and switched over my device (the main and first paid off of the remaining devices). Was told I had until x date to port my 15 year old mobile number to the new carrier. That information was wrong and I lost my number. Updated my main account with spectrum after getting a new number on the new carrier.

*on the remaining lines I’m receiving messages about a 5g update for the esims. Attempted to do this, went though sms security verification on log in - fine. Went to select the update, old number is the only option to have the verification sent to… still.

My take overall- great service/company when things are just working as they should but god help you if you need a support person to do literally anything, on the first try. Said screw it to the updates with my remaining couple of months on these devices before I switch them off and say good riddance forever finally. My advice is if you need to contact customer service, assume you should just contact them at a minimum twice- once to request and the second to confirm immediately after with a different rep on a different call. Best of luck to everyone in the meantime 🤷‍♂️

Le Tigre

This was everywhere for a while and reminded me of one of the best live shows I can recall back then. I miss going to shows and having that energy, so instead I’ll lay in bed on a Saturday morning a little longer and watch YouTube videos.

Recruiters

Hey all- I’ve been a GM and manager in the industry for many years now and have relocated due to some family stuff and needing to be closer. Where I’ve moved to in contrast to where I was, the job prospects have been dismal. I have little to no networked folks behind me here which would normally be what I’d lean on. “Here” is Atlanta. Does anyone have any experience with recruiters for a manager, GM or higher roles they’re familiar with? Goodwin and a few other googled ones seem less like recruiters and more like aggregators, so I’m kind of lost.

Much appreciate in advance for any recs!

You win five million dollars in the Publisher's Sweepstakes, and the same day aliens land on Earth and say they're going to blow up the world in two days. What are you going to do with the money?

Or, which heather was your favorite and why was it Veronica?

Had been hired as GM and worked with maybe the absolute worst staff I’ve ever been handed. Got through some months of correcting that and finally got things to a better place. While I’ve acquired many grievances along the way (pay vs work expectoration and lack of salary, poor fit in terms of views on good service and taking care of staff and team members as two examples) - I was mostly willing to overlook this. Until a problem employee sent me multiple messages complaining about the schedule she feels entitled to ending with “I’m not coming tomorrow, I’m going to a job fair.” I wished her the best and removed her from the schedule. Now because she can’t go to work at another of our locations like she thought she could (this was her plan because a previous problem coworker was moved to another location)- they’re telling me to put her back on the schedule because she’s claiming she didn’t mean she quit. So I resigned. I’ve gathered a few hard lines in the sand over the years- and a total lack of support and backing by upper management is one of them. It sets a precedent for other staff that they can do this too without repercussion. My area manager said they’ll performance her out asap - to which I said “oh but, retaliation… so good luck with that.” I’m told I’m a little too uptight - but I’ve been down that road before and it never ends well.
