Tenancy renwal fee

Landlord appointed new agent to manage his apartment. Agent sent us a new amended contract 20 days before renewal, putting in 1.5k renewal fee and some other changes. The whole annex is actually completely different to existing one. There is nothing about renewal fee in the current contract. We rejected or course. Now she is saying she can't proceed with our renewal process as we don't want to pay the renewal fee and to contact the landlord. We sent her the link from 2020 where officials are saying that renewal fees are not allowed, and we also told her they can't change the terms of contract only 20 days before exipry.

WIO changing terms to avail 6% on savings

WIO just announced that in order to get 6% on savings, you need to spend a minimum of 5k with their credit card. You also need to have a salary transferred to them. We have a family plan with WIO, with 1 salary transfer. Did anyone get an info if we can jointly spend 5k on our credit cards, or does the family lead alone need to spend 5k?

Inconsiderate neighbor

The neighbor has been blocking our parking space for 2 days now. Seems they are not at home as they can't be reached. Any suggestions on what to do in this case? Can the police be involved or smtg.

Pelagos by IGO in Marina

Can't seem to find much info about the new tower being built in Marina. Pelagos by IGO, it's just behind No.9 Tower.

The design looks outdated, so I'm wondering if they bought an old building and are doing a total revamp?

Extend tenancy or move out?

Genuinely not sure what to do. Should I move out of my current apartment and look for better deals in August?

LMy tenancy expires end of August (have till end of May to say if i want to renew or not). The landlord doesn't want to negotiate on the price or number of checks. I am currently paying 80k with 1 cheque, and now he want 85k, still with 1 cheque.

According to RERA he is allowed to increase, but i would argue that the index is not representing real market situation.

I feel that in this uncertain times, 1 cheque should come with a discount.

Rental index update

When will RERA finally update the rental index? My lease expires end of August and the index still shows a 5% increase, while the actual market tells a completely different story.

I literally went to check apartments in my own building, just a few floors up and down, and advertised rents are at the same level as what I currently pay, with room to negotiate even lower.

Yet the landlord and agent keep repeating “the index says +5%” like it’s the ultimate truth, while real demand clearly softened.

Deyaar Jannat Midtown

Looking at Deyaar projects, especially Jannat and the wider Midtown community, and they honestly look very appealing for families. The area seems quieter, more community-focused, with parks, pools, retail, and the planned golf course nearby adding long-term value potential. Prices also seem more reasonable compared to Marina/JVC etc. Curious if anyone here has firsthand experience with Deyaar as a developer? Build quality, maintenance, service charges, delays, resale/rental demand? Would appreciate honest feedback from owners or tenants.

Cash buyer, 1.3M

Looking to buy a 1BHK apartment in Dubai with cash, mainly in Marina, JLT, Arjan, or similar areas.

Priorities are good building quality, reasonable service charges, decent rental demand, and long-term value. Interested in recommendations for specific buildings, developers, or communities worth considering, as well as areas or towers to avoid.

Would also appreciate hearing from anyone who recently bought in these locations and how their experience has been so far.

Please comment here or DM me.

Is there any roadwork going on in Sharjah or what? Traffic is at the worst pre-war levels. Stand still starting on Garhoud bridge.
