Will Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 finally get IP67?
The photo is of the Spectacles 2, and that's actually why I chose it.
Years ago, Snap was already pushing water resistance as an everyday feature for smart glasses.
Now Meta has introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard with IP67, while the Ray-Ban Meta lineup is still rated IPX4.
That got me thinking...
Meta's vision is clearly moving toward AI glasses that people wear all day—not just camera glasses you put on occasionally.
If these are meant to become true everyday AI companions, shouldn't IP67 become the standard?
Think about real-world use:
• Heavy rain
• Sweat during workouts
• Traveling
• Theme parks and festivals
• Accidental drops in a sink or shallow water
The less users have to think about protecting their glasses, the more natural it becomes to wear them all day.
Since Meta has already proven IP67 is possible with the Oakley lineup, do you think Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 will get the same treatment?
Or do you think Meta will intentionally keep Ray-Ban as the lifestyle line and Oakley as the rugged, performance-focused line?
