they confiscated my meta glasses!!!

So I picked up my prescription Gen2 Ray Ban Wayfarers today £700 with all the extras I picked and I’m just incredibly frustrated and super disappointed in them.

I tried to set them up in store and they said frames were already linked to another meta account. They were brand new I watched the assistant break the seal on the box in store. It took 30 minutes of trying to hard reset to make them finally link.

I then tried a few features out and made a call and took some photos fine. But then I noticed If I want to sync a photo to my phone I have to hard close the app and then reopen it twice to give me the option to link to RayBan WiFi to send photos to my phone.

I tried to update them when I got home on the WiFi and it said 5 minutes remaining for over an hour before saying it failed and to try again. I had to hard close the app multiple times for it to finally work and update.

I asked them to text someone and it defaulted to WhatsApp. I disconnected WhatsApp and it now try’s to send texts through Instagram. I just want it to send an SMS through my phone. It can read incoming texts but if I say reply it tries to reply to random Instagram accounts.

I asked them to send last picture on WhatsApp to my wife and they tried to send it to some random Latino car wash Instagram account that isn’t anything remotely like my wife’s name.

I tried to video call my parents on WhatsApp and the quality was horrendous. It wouldn’t even work on WiFi. The picture was just frozen and super blurred. I switched to phone camera and it was perfect.

The AI is dumb as hell. I asked it who was playing tonight in the World Cup and it told me Equador was playing Mexico tonight at 5pm (that game was 3 days ago) I then corrected it and said no Egypt are playing tonight and it then tried to tell me that Egypt was playing Mexico tonight instead.

The supposedly 8 hours of battery life was down to 20% just listening to music after 2 hours.

It’s been 5 hours and I feel like I wasted £700 for a set of sunglasses that play music. Tell me I’m not insane? Am I doing something wrong?

These have tons of bugs, from crashing my phone (could be an iOS 27 beta bug)

But the most annoying, brand new glasses, and after the first day they stopped deploying to hey meta!

No matter what I did, unpair, reset firmware, disconnect and reconnect, join their early access and leave, no matter what, no hey meta. Randomly id try and it works, but then doesn't

And the microphone seems to be working during video recordings but not during audio calls

Support says to return them during my 30 day regret window.

Anyone have this with their adventure glasses? Any tips?

The Meta AI app often uses a few hundred megabytes of 5G when the app is not in the foreground, and I don’t use any of the glasses features. It will often happen when I’m just casually wearing them. it is not an update downloading in the background, this morning I had it happen, and when I opened the Meta AI app version 126 update was still pending to download. Anyone else seeing this, and knows what the data is?

Meta adventurer doesn’t pair or blink, also case doesn’t get the charge it blinks red. Tried everything the app or the online says.

When I entered the store I waited 10 minutes staring at the salesperson. Finally when bought I asked how to set it up and they said you’re good to go justpair it from Bluetooth.

I purchased it from Las Vegas just to use at Grand Canyon. It was the main driver. Now I’m at Hoover dam finding out it’s not gonna work. Tried the chat with meta support but doesn’t work as well.

I was a tourist in the US and I’ll go back where we don’t have any meta stores. How I’m gonna get a refund any ideas? I don’t wanna roam around trying to find a meta store anymore I just wanna get rid of it.

I recently received my new Meta Fury glasses, and I have some thoughts. I originally bought the Meta Ray-Ban Wayfarers, thinking they would be the pair I'd settle on since I was coming from traditional Wayfarers that I'd worn for at least three to four years. However, upon using the smart Ray-Bans, I noticed several key issues that made me question my purchase. It primarily came down to fit—or the lack thereof.

I found that the nose bridge slipped way more than I liked, even in cool climates. I'd expect a little slibage if I were sweating, but this was a constant issue. I even purchased aftermarket parts to see if they would help, but it was a mixed bag. On top of that, the temples dug into the back of my ears to the point of causing painful pressure spots, which was a huge reason I stopped wearing them consistently. Safe to say, the transition from traditional to smart glasses from the same brand wasn't as smooth as I'd hoped.

So, when I heard that Meta was making their own glasses and had addressed all the pain points I mentioned above, I returned my Ray-Bans and bought the Furys right away. Right out of the box, they looked stylish, though they do lack that iconic Ray-Ban silhouette—which is a good or a bad thing depending on who you ask. When I first put them on, I wore them for a few hours without making any adjustments, and sure enough, all those old issues came flooding back. The bridge was slipping, and the temples were digging into the back of my ears. I thought, 'Damn, they really didn't fix anything.'

But then I realized you can actually adjust the angle of the nose pads. You can also reshape the temples to flare outward instead of bowing inward. Lo and behold, once I adjusted them, things felt 110% better. I actually started enjoying the glasses again. Meta seems to have taken excellent notes on common complaints, delivering something to the market that costs less than the original but outperforms it in every other way. Sure, I don't use the Meta AI features for much other than basic questions or setting reminders, but being able to capture moments on the fly while just wearing regular-looking glasses is a massive win.

Can anyone provide an estimate of the time it would take for clip-on glasses to be available on Amazon and other marketplaces for new Meta glasses? I’m considering the Adventurer model, and it appears that clip-on glasses are not yet available on Amazon, even though they were just launched 5-10 days ago.

As a women I often get quite scared going out alone because of getting harassed by men on the street mainly. Been flashed on public transport and also There’s been many times in my life where I’ve been followed by cars and guys on foot on board day light makes me less weary to go out.

Looking at these new meta glasses I think I’d be alot more confident in going out and about because I’d have a hands free device that can also record of something ever did happen and hopefully wearing the glasses out and about will deter those who cannot control themselves when seeing a woman in public.

Also the fact if something more serious happened I could hands free call the emergency services.

As I hear many people feel uneasy about them but I think for safety reasons with make my day to day experiences a lot more relaxing knowing I have some sort of evidence.

Has anyone else thought of getting meta glasses for this kind of use !?

I just got mine. I am a content creator and planned on that. But these are going to be great driving Uber (for recording traffic) and for personal security if I deliver Uber Eats to the door.

I got banned the last two days on reddit for saying 'we should feel free to br3ak meta glasses if we see them recording without consent in public'. I commented that on a video of a girl being 'picked up' by a guy in my own city while he was recording it through meta glasses. I just wanted to address it here even though it could be a misread by an auto-mod, I don't think there's any solving or anything to do. I'm just trying to look out for myself and the people I care about who've been many times SA-ed in this city as well.

When I ask Siri or Alexa to play news, they play top (and current) relevant news. When I ask Meta to play news, it starts playing country music from my Apple Music App. I ask Meta to read news and plays news that is weeks old.
