So, just a heads up. I bought this doll second hand and never bothered to check because when I first got her, I only looked at her shoulders and ankles and she didn’t look stained.

So I left her as she was. Big mistake!

This fashion pack she was dressed in has left horrible stains on her arms, hands and legs, leaving me with no choice but getting another Cinderella…

Which makes me sad as she had a great face, non-silvered eyes and her hair was soft and curly. I’ll try and see if I can lift the stains with peroxide and sun treatment but I don’t think it will make any difference on such deep staining.

I’ll think about how to turn them into cool tattoos if I can’t remove them 😅 but I definitely need a new Cindy (and Ariel, cause mine has the silvered eyes and no original clothes, unless I decide to give her custom eyes…)

I was only aiming at finding Genevieve for a decent price when I saw this lot for €15 plus shipping and I could not resist!

Genevieve came with her previous owner’s name (a child) written in marker at the back of her head 😅 luckily acetone took it right off, even though that made me sweat… I then immediately swapped Genevieve’s eyes and body for Jade’s and I think she looks so much better! 💙 The purple eyes are on so many dolls I now find them almost always jarring. I just wish her hair was less choppy… Now that I found some decent neck pegs I’m converting all my unused S1 bodies with limited neck rotation and as you can see she can perfectly tilt her head now ☺️

I thought I could sell the other two since I already have them, but curly hair is so gorgeous 😩 I’m thinking about keeping her and dyeing her hair but I’m not sure about the color yet… she has some yellow staining at the top and pink on the back of her head since she was used by a kid, and I’d like to mask these stains since I’m unable to remove it. Any suggestions about hair colors? I’d love an ombre effect 😊

And now the interesting part: Watercolor girl with brown eyes came with her hair in multiple shades since she was used too, so first I tried oxyclean with little progress. I then read that cleaning alcohol could help lift what was left and dunked her hair in it for a few hours, but I was not aware that my alcohol had dye in it 😂 😂 😂 and as you can see in one pic, I tried to de-stain the doll in a pink container, so I couldn’t see that she was soaking up the color 🤦‍♀️

So she turned pink! But the stains at the top were still there, so I turned her pink into a pastel ombré just with purple shampoo, which took incredibly well… now I’m no longer sure I want to sell her, even though I can’t keep them all 😅

The last few pics are for warning… I tried to de-stain curly hair’s clothes in oxyclean too, and this is what happened… the little eyelets got rusty! I’m going to try spot stain removal soon, and if it doesn’t work I’ll just dye everything, but beware that this can happen!

Not pictured, but Genevieve’s dress can stain as well, her sleeves left blue marks on her original body :/

So, last year I got these incomplete Storm Twins, and never undressed them until now (bad mistake!)… and they‘re yellowing.

Veronica has some yellowing on her forearms, while Naomi has noticeable yellowing on her whole arms and the top of her legs. And both have faces that don’t match their bodies! Im not even sure if they are yellowing, but they don’t match. I know it’s common, for example my Scarlett and Margot have the same issue, but it’s quite more noticeable for these two.

I wonder if the clothes are the culprit for the yellowing bodies, as oddly enough, the joints aren’t yellow! And hopefully I can de-stain them successfully with peroxide and sun (it’s been sunny for weeks and now that I need it, it’s cloudy all week, of course)

And the irony is I have another Naomi with dye stains on her arms, but she isn’t yellow. I had planned to sell the other one, but now I’m not sure which is worse 😩

All in all, if I ever chose to body swap, Natasha is pretty close to the original body, even though the Storm Twins have more of a purplish undertone - I tried with Uma, Glitch and Demi but they are too blue or too pink - and the funny thing is that if you only take into consideration the head’s color, they match pretty well with Karla! I would never have considered her, but now that I see it… I just wish getting two extra Karla bodies was less expensive 😅
