To give a little more context, I was woken up by what I thought was an animal in distress. And immediately afraid for my dogs I went outside to see what was going on, only to then be met by this weird animal call. I live in East Texas near to the Louisiana border the area around my home is comprised of pine forest. I searched up Coyote calls and they seemed similar to this. Coyotes are relatively common around my area too, but so are wild dogs. It could be either but I assume both are equally unpleasant to be awoken by.

P.S. Sorry about the talking at the start I was trying to get my dogs to go back inside the house and quit barking at the weird sounds in the woods. Oh and they were fine a little bit startled but not harmed.

My money's on Morgoth, given that he had a hand in creating arda, (the world middle earth resides in) , I think he wins this fight, also the fact that Morgoth can create massive city sized dragons is a nice bonus.

Does anyone know what they might be?

My current theory is that they are underwater salt domes but I'm probably wrong about that.
