Alexander Lake, UT

A friend of mine told me.to check this place out and it didnt disappoint. I was the only one there on a wed/thurs. Lots of beautiful sites on the lake and one in the trees had a bench/swing made from a log and ropes. Shore fishing is tricky becasue of all the lilly pad things near the coast, but a kayak or.paddle board would make it easier. I barely got my truck down to this site. Some of the forest roads around this lake are more like atv trails. Weather was perfect and the aspen are poppin with color. Get out there if you can!!

Whitney Reservoir

Water level is very low. Brown, rainbow, and tiger biting everything. 3 of us caught 20+ in a few hours. We only kept what we couldn't release. This was 8/31 between thunderstorms.

Rainy trip in the Uintas 8/29 - 8/30.

I planned this trip about a week out with some family. As the trip got closer the forecast got worse. When we left Saturday morning the forecast was severe thunderstorms for most of the afternoon We ended up using a bunch of tarps to keep the tents and fire pit dry. It turned out great. We caught over 20 trout between the three of us , two of us using spinners and one worms. We saw a moose on the way up mirror lake highway and had an amazing sunset view. The thundtorms and hail just made it exciting, man the thunder in the mountains hits different.

Whitney Reservoir UT

Quick trip up to Whitney Reservoir UT. Its about a 2.5 hr drive from my house, but incredibly scenic most of the way. (Hard to beat Mirror Lake highway views). It was a quiet Monday night I got hit by some late afternoon rain and hail but the sun was back out in no time. I need to work on my hammock hang.... its been a while.

Not all who wander are lost.

When i left my house i had no idea where id end up sleeping... i just knew It would be in the mountains and hopefully near some water if i could luck out. I did know i would be heading through kamas to mirror lake highway and then down Murdock basin road and then i just hoped to find something i liked before sundown. Now I know that patience and hope... and looooong gnarly forest roads lead to paradise.

Spent last night in a tent at a dispersed spot above strawberry reservoir UT. Lots of big sites, great for atvs and horse trailers. I was the only one up there due to the low temps and it being a tursday night. Love this area in the fall and spring when its not packed with atvs. Saw some elk a few hours after i got there on my first walk. Also had a couple birds who loved my window tint and side mirrors... they hung out on my truck for hours.

It snowed lightly for a few minutes right after i got finished setting up camp, but then the sun came out and it was a beautiful afternoon. Temps dropped to low 20s Fahrenheit over night but i layered up in my cot and ran a tent heater for a bit (with my Co2 monitor)in the morning. It was fine. There was frost on everything in the morning until the sun came over the hills. It was gorgeous.
