No tip for bar service

There's a brewery we like to go to when visiting the UP. We have always been good tippers, but this sub has made me so aware of the disconnect between paying for goods/services and being forced to pay hijacked tips. So when I cashed us out I hit 0 tip. We go to the bar, order our drinks, take them to our table, take the empties to the bar. Absolutely no reason for a tip and I don't feel bad!

Glacier hike, south

We did a hike near Jokulsarlon today. It was awesome views, Glacier, ocean and mountain. Some of it was a bit extreme, ropes, unstable rocks on steep terrain but completely worth it! Hijallanes - Skálafellsjökull was the trail. From the parking area it's about 9-10km total. Elevation change of 185 meters. Took us about 4 hours including a stop for lunch. If you're near Jokulsarlon and have time check it out!,

Taking the Crew on the road

We're in Iceland and we are wearing our Crew gear as much possible. Even wore it to a match in Akranes (black and gold) against Kef. We are on a glacier hike in the pic

Went to a makeup retailer today, it was time to update my look. The salesperson that helped me did a great job and I found several products to purchase. When I went to check out i was asked if I want to leave a tip today. Um no, what???? Then there was the credit card sign up and then the charity roundup. Good grief I felt used and abused by time I walked out of there. I did not tip, signup for a credit card or give to charity.

This has to stop!

We leave in 2 days for a 2 week trip. I am very outgoing and from the Midwest states so I love to just chat. How can I ensure not to offend locals with my chatter? Also nervous bc we're from the us which is not a great place right now.

Also should I work on basic phrases or stick with English?

Thank you for any advice!
