Local SEO in 2026 Is Bigger Than Just Google Rankings

Interesting to see how local business discovery is now spread across multiple platforms, not just Google Search.

Google and Google Maps still dominate, but platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and even Apple Maps are influencing local buying decisions more than many businesses realize.

Feels like modern local SEO is becoming more about overall digital presence, reviews, trust signals, and platform visibility rather than only ranking a website.

From $10K/Year to $220K/Year: The Reality of Long-Term Blogging Growth

One thing that stood out in this blogging income report is how long consistent growth actually takes.

BloggersPassion spent years making under $10K/year before eventually crossing $220K/year and $1.4M+ total revenue over time.

The biggest growth drivers seemed to be:
• updating old content
• targeting buyer-intent keywords
• building trust through helpful content
• focusing on conversions, not just traffic

Interesting part is that even with lower Google traffic due to AI Overviews and changing search behavior, revenue still increased because the traffic quality improved.

SEO vs AEO vs GEO vs AIO: Is Traditional SEO Becoming Outdated in 2026?

SEO used to be mostly about ranking pages on Google.

Now the game is changing:

• SEO → Rank on search engines
• AEO → Become the direct answer
• GEO → Get cited by AI systems like ChatGPT & Gemini
• AIO → Use AI to optimize content and marketing automatically

Feels like modern SEO is no longer just about keywords and backlinks.
Visibility now depends on whether AI systems can understand, trust, and use your content.

Curious how many people here are already optimizing for AI visibility instead of just SERP rankings?

Interesting trend from recent SaaS data

Average number of SaaS tools used:

  • 2020 → 80
  • 2021 → 110
  • 2022 → 130 (peak)
  • 2023 → 112
  • 2024 → 106
  • 2025 est. → 100
  • 2026 est. → 95

Looks like companies went through a massive “tool stacking” phase… and now consolidation is happening.

Came across this interesting data on AI usage in SEO

  • 46.36% use a good amount of AI
  • 15.51% are mostly relying on AI
  • Only 25.8% are still pure human
  • And just 2.5% are fully AI-only

Total: 71.7% of SEOs are using AI in some capacity

What stood out to me is that pure AI is still very low, but hybrid (Human + AI) is dominating.
