Statins with normal cholesterol?

Statins with normal cholesterol?

I'm in the UK. I am 47 and I have been diagnosed since 2013. My last HBA1c was 42.

I recieved the following text and I'm confused. My cholesterol is normal but I need to start statins?

Can anyone explain this? Is this only because I'm t2? I did make an in person appointment with one of the nurses for 2 weeks from now.

Thanks

Going Up Purely for Weight Loss?

I'm in the UK, so my HBA1c number won't look the same as someone in the US.

I had my official review call with my diabetic nurse, even though I've had my latest HBA1c result for a few weeks. It's 42.

I've been on 10mg for about 3 months now and obviously the dose is working. Since starting 7 months ago, I've shifted 5kg. My personal goal involves losing around 20-25KG total, though I probably could stand to lose a bit more to apease BMI charts.

My nurse told me I can stay on 10mg and now that my HBA1c is under control, I should see faster weight loss. OR, she's offered to up my dose to 12.5 purely for additional weight loss.

I'm not sure what I should do. I struggle as it is to eat anything more than weetabix, yogurt, fruit, and a yfood drink on days 1&2 and I worry going up a dose will completely kill my appetite.

Any advice? Thanks

Lowered my HBA1c to "pre" in 6 mo!

It's been a roller coaster.

I had surgery in September, where they discovered my HBA1c was 103. Metformin was no longer working for me. In March, I started on Mounjaro and by April my HBA1c was already down to 65. In July, I started on 10mg doses and I had my bloods done yesterday. My HBA1c is now 42.

Found my dose.

Looking for a Pork Chop Recipe

I'm looking for a pork chops and rice recipe from my childhood. all I remember is it had pork chops and you cooked them over the rice and it possibly had mushrooms? It might have been a betty crocker recipe, but I don't remember it having any cream of soup! Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks!

Crying from Constipation

I am on Mounjaro for T2 Diabetes.

I recently had my dose upped from 7.5 to 10. OH MY GOD the constipation. At first it was mild, but eating more fibre, drinking warm water with lemon, etc wasn't helping and I wound up crying trying to go from the pain. I wound up using Senokot. But then it happened again. Now I'm on a mild laxative from my GP (Lactulose) where I was told to use it "as needed". Obviously, I know it's due to everything slowing down, but is there a point where your body gets used to it and you aren't in a constant cycle of constipated-laxative? I also currently have a sore tailbone, which apparently was caused by the constipation and can take weeks to resolve....so I really don't want to have constant pain while sitting at my desk, either!

Itch relief

Hi all,

This is particularly for those of you in the UK because of brands. During this heatwave, my apron belly underside is getting itchy from sweat. I've been using dove all over deodorant cream, but it doesn't stop the itch! Any suggestions? Thanks

Dense but tasty....advice please!

I love my bread machine and the bread is very good, but one thing we've noticed is the bread is very dense. I use the recipe that came with the machine, using 600g strong wholemeal bread flour. I measure all the ingredients, even the liquids on the scale. The only change is I use oat milk powder instead of milk powder for no reason other than I don't like milk and have it on hand.

Like I said, the bread is good -- we'd just like a less dense loaf for sandwiches and toast.

Any suggestions?

I am in the UK and have a Russell Hobbs 23620.

Thanks!!

Hibiscrub/hibiclense discontinued?

Does anyone know what is going on? I just went to pick up my prescription and the co-op told me it's been discontinued! Has it had another name change?

HGSS fic?

I was on Ao3 and read the first line of a summary, didn't click, and now can't find it.

It was under hermione/snape and summary I caught was something like Hermione disappeared after the battle, but returned with 2 yr old twins. I can only assume snape would turn out to be the father.

Please help find this!

Thanks!
