So far I just use portals early to mid game to keep getting royal decrees, like I’ll put two and wait to use the third until after I make a choice, then I do that until I can’t any more or I place some new unit/building I draw

In the beginning of the game I go negative years and fight a really hard army I can’t win

How do you abuse portals in this game to be OP, if at all?

Do I need to put troops/imps on all four sides?

Are certain upgrades better for it? I like to use over invest, for example
