A client wants to produce a project where the animators first draw the entire animation frame by frame in Toon Boom, not just the key poses. Once the animation is approved, instead of doing a traditional cleanup pass, they want the rigged character to be manually posed over every single animated frame.

At that point, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be easier to just do a normal cleanup and coloring pass instead. The characters are about as detailed as those in The Princess and the Frog, and they're also expecting Disney-quality facial expressions, but the pay is the same as for a regular cutout animation project.

Has anyone here actually worked with a pipeline like this? If it's as much of a nightmare as it sounds?
