another night another walk off for the cubbies. 13 on the year!!!
great game!!!
…but i really hoping the league can figure out a better live website/ the commentators learn how to update the viewers better bc this was honestly the worst scoring experience ive ever had. it was basically impossible to keep up with the substitutions and sometimes the website/commentators were just flat out wrong about who was hitting/fielding
no promises that this is anywhere close to accurate. a lot of scorer’s discretion was needed
celebrating opening day the only way i know how with a scorecard. my 7 year old self playing little league as 1 of 3 girls on the team 13 years ago could never have imagined getting to see this
BIG game against Skenes to keep in touch with the Brewers. PCA is really showing why he should be NL MVP this year!!
has anyone gotten a waitlist code for dc yet? I’m in desperate need of two tickets but haven’t seen anything yet
definitely not the result i wanted tonight…
Don’t usually score for teams outside my own but your girl was in severe baseball withdrawal and desperately in need of a game. Always casual fun to watch a game with no personal stakes.
Certainly a pitchers game. Not a lot of action but the insane amount of subs makes up for it. Definitely an interesting experience scoring the All Star Game
Only time of year I root against the O’s!! Very Exciting and chaotic game resulting in plenty of mistakes on my part (oops 🫣)
Rainy game so decided to try out the Chalk and Ink online scoring instead of getting my 22 wet. Worked out… fairly well. Definitely an interface meant for laptops more than phones but was a pretty positive experience.
Pros:
- completely free to use (just sign up with your email)
automatically fills out starting lineups
- Automatically fills out inning and player stats
- semi automatically fills out player advancement numbers (plus for me since i never feel i’m quick enough to do so on paper nor have enough room)
- easy substitution player search
- easy hit and out location tracking
- unlimited innings (great for this 13 inning game especially since my 22 only has 11 innings)
- automatic runner placement was super easy but also optional in case it doesn’t happen
- bunch of fun stats saved to your account after the game is finished
Cons:
- no foul fly or pop out option (not a super big deal but i do like to keep track)
- some glitching regarding pitcher existence and substitution placement
- super difficult to edit any mistakes after the fact (after getting home to my laptop editing at bats wasn’t too bad but i couldn’t figure out at all how to edit running)
- no way to advance runner just bc or multiple bases on an error (this could just be user error on my part bc in the automatically created scorecards on the website it is done properly 🤷)
- Auto at bat fill and inning fill did not work AT ALL (could be a game specific bug tho)
- couldn’t read most pop-ups since they were def designed for a computer interface
- a bit of a system learning curve (at least for me it was mostly intuitive but some might struggle)
Overall I’d say it was an acceptable switch with the weather. Maybe wouldn’t use on the regular but for other rain games I might; given this learning experience it would probably go fine. Def would use it again if they made the interface more mobile friendly.
A lot of the cons aren’t a problem if you don’t tend to make mistakes during your scoring or miss any at bats so I wouldn’t take my experience and thoughts as a “boo negative this sucks” cause it definitely doesn’t. It is a super great program overall and I love how it makes scoring super accessible to everyone.
