Request for Community Feedback on Remakes

I’m sure you have all noticed the amount of discussion in the subreddit recently regarding the various VMK remakes/projects.

Rather than making changes to how these posts are handled without community input, I would like to hear everyone’s thoughts on the matter.

How would you like to see remake and fan project posts handled on this subreddit going forward?

  1. Should remake/project VMK posts continue to be allowed?

Or alternatively:

  1. Should we limit how frequently individual projects can be promoted?

Please keep the discussion civil. Personal attacks, accusations, harassment, or attempts to restart previous disputes will be removed.

Your feedback will be taken into account before deciding any changes to the subreddit rules. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to provide constructive input.

Another post about how terrible Optimum is

I had Optimum Internet for 3 years, the service itself was fine, whatever. It worked and that’s all I cared about. Originally signed up for $60/mo for 500Mbps. Decent enough deal and I picked them when I moved in because they could set me up faster than Fios.

Cue the classic price increase to $75 after the first year, did the same thing people always say, called retention and got them to bring it back down to $60. Not even 3 months later they raise it again by $15, but this time it’s because they’re charging me for the router all of a sudden. This time I just said whatever, I’ll pay for the router. Then this month I get ANOTHER price increase all the way up to $95.

I was done with the constant bs, so I scheduled Verizon to come hook me up to Fios ($50/mo 5 year price lock btw). Little did I know how much of a pain in the ass it would be to get disconnected.

I brought my router to an Optimum store and tried to return it and cancel my service, only to be told I can only cancel over the phone. So I then sit in the Optimum store for 30 minutes on the phone as they give me the runaround and transfer me to 3 different people, each person trying to give me a deal to keep me while I constantly explain that they are out of chances. Too little too late, I already pulled their wires out of my house.

Now they’re trying to charge me for the rest of the month on service I won’t even be using, will try my best to disallow that but I guarantee they will try. Not only that, they are STILL calling me trying to give me offers, even though I don’t even have their equipment anymore. Should have offered me a discount when you still had me as a customer.

An absolute nightmare, and I will never be using Optimum services ever again. If you have the ability to switch, I would highly recommend you do so. No wonder their stock price is at an all time low with this customer experience. No other company I’ve done business with completely disregards their existing paying customers like Optimum does.

Regarding recent posts on the subreddit

Hi all, mod here. This subreddit was created a long time ago, frankly I would check the mod logs every so often and never saw many problems (There weren’t many posts either). Color me surprised to open the sub today to see the mess going on.

I’m going to clarify a few things here. You are allowed to express your opinions about the game, positive or negative. Just remember that there are real people on the other end of the keyboard. Inflammatory comments and posts directed at specific other users will be removed. Repeat offenders to this rule will be banned. Let’s all try to be respectful to one another.

Another thing, this subreddit is not affiliated with the staff of MyVMK at all. We cannot unban you or help you if you get into trouble over there. So please redirect posts like ban appeals to the MyVMK discord.

I am going to be keeping a closer eye on the sub from now on, if anyone has any suggestions they think would improve things around here, feel free to send me a modmail or post in the comments here.
