I can’t make sense of the logistics

We have a beautiful venue, and we are so excited to get married but I can’t stop stressing about logistics for the set up.

We only have access to set up from 10:30am, with a 2pm ceremony.

We have booked a cottage on the grounds for the night before so I can start my hair and make-up there before moving to the bridal suite which makes that side of things easier. However, how on earth do you set up the morning of?!

We have a coordinator with the venue but she was very clear that she can help oversee, but things like table and decor set up will ultimately be down to us to do. She did say that the staff will never let us fall behind and will provide help if needed, but I just can’t wrap my head around how the morning is going to go.

Has anyone had similar? How did it go and how did you organise it? I don’t want my bridesmaids or the groomsmen spending their mornings setting up for us (although they have all offered because they’re wonderful people).

Any help for a v anxious bride would be appreciated 🥲

Conflicting stories and a forced narrative

Hey all! I want to just say I am not a full fledged hater, and do enjoy some of her (older) songs. However, some things have been really irking me recently and I thought this was the best place to voice that and see what others think.

Firstly, her stories on the process of this album seem so conflicting. One minute she is telling an interviewer how she wrote all these songs that she thought were love songs and when she played them for people they said “wow these are pretty sad for love songs” which is where she got the inspo for the name, blah blah blah. BUT then she also says that coming into this album she really wanted to perfect writing “the perfect sad love song”. These two don’t add up - you either wrote them and didn’t realise how sad you were, or you went into it wanting to write a sad love song.

This kind of follows into my other point.. she is forcing the narrative so much that she looked “so in love” but deep down wasn’t. She recites it in every interview. IMO, she wanted what happened to Taylor post-Joe break up to happen to her - e.g. a lot of Swifties went back through her music catalogue and realised even Lover (the album) was laced with so much anxiety and sadness, as were all her other albums (folklore/evermore/midnights) during her Joe era. But this was organic on the Taylor/swifties part.

Curious to know if anyone else has the same feelings towards this because it really irks me. IMO, you shouldn’t have to force a narrative for your music, it should speak for itself.

I signed the contract! 🥹

I’ve felt stuck in my job for 6 years. I’ve applied for multiple jobs over the last two years, and really ramped it up in the last year. In the last 6 months, I’ve applied to over 100 jobs. I wasn’t even making it to interview stage.

Then, I finally got an interview! Rigorous 4 stage process that felt so intense, but it was all worth it to receive that offer 🥳!! I am so happy to finally leave my toxic job, get a pay rise, and a much longer list of benefits.

This company is the first one I even got to the interview stage with, and I received such great feedback throughout the whole process. It just shows how horrible and broken the system is - I can’t imagine how many great candidates aren’t even passing the CV screenings.

Hang in there guys - I know how hard it is, and how much of a toll it all takes on us.

Has anyone had a final interview with a partner?

It’s a 1:1 interview, only 30 mins. The recruiter seemed to suggest it was much more relaxed than my 3 other rounds - task, behavioural and then technical.

What kind of thing can I expect? She said it’ll be more focused on my background in general as they already know I can do the job, and a chance to ask questions from my end.

However this doesn’t make me feel very well prepped. What kind of Qs appear at this part? 🧐

Final round partner interview

I’ve been out of the interview game for years, and somehow miraculously I have gotten through 4 stages of an interview process so far.

My last one went so so well. I was interviewing with the head of development, and he was really encouraging and has put me through to the final stage.

I’ve already done: HR screening, behavioural, task, technical and now I have the partner interview left.

Behavioural and technical were as you’d expect, although I did find the behavioural one quite hard but I managed it.

What typically happens at the partner stage/finale stage of an interview process? I’ve been through all the “traditional” steps and I’ve never had to do this kind of round before (not standard for the current org/sector I work in.) What kind of questions can be expected at this point?

I really really want and need this job and I’d hate to mess it up at the last stage, so any insight would be so so appreciated - both from interviewer and interviewees!

The lack of transparency is sooooooooo infuriating. I was told the COO had to reschedule my 2nd round interview as he was last minute presenting at a conference (they told me 1 hour before).

They asked for my availability to reschedule which I gave then they never got back in touch. After chasing up I received a weird email saying that due to team members being on leave and being “out” for personal reasons they have to put a pause on hiring for the role. Looked on glassdoor and they’ve said similar to candidates for other roles.

At the same time they’re boasting all over LinkedIn how much they’re expanding and how many open roles they have… suspicious af.

Need some positive stories! I just completely sank an interview that I was really excited for. The questions that came up were completely random and not really aligned to my role or what I had prepped so I became a blubbering mess for most of it :(

Have you ever experienced Qs come up that just completely take you off guard? I had prepped so many solid work examples and I genuinely couldn’t fit any of them into some of the Qs because they felt so out of place.

Onto the next interview I guess..
