I got into my dream law school with a 158 LSAT and 3.6 GPA. Happy to share what I think made the difference.

I know those numbers are below median for a lot of schools so I want to share what I genuinely believe got me in because I see a lot of posts here from people stressing about stats and I think there is an important piece of the conversation missing.
My personal statement was the thing I spent the most time on by far. Not because I read that online somewhere but because an admissions advisor told me directly that for candidates with similar numbers, storytelling is what they remember. Not the GPA. Not the LSAT score. The story.
A few things that I think made mine work.
I opened with a specific moment instead of a general statement about myself. Admissions officers read hundreds of statements that start with I have always wanted to be a lawyer. Starting with a real scene from your life makes them stop and actually read.
I made sure every experience I mentioned connected back to why law specifically. Not just I care about justice but here is the exact moment I understood what law could actually do for someone.
I ended by circling back to how I started so the whole thing felt like one complete story rather than a list of accomplishments.
Happy to answer any questions about the process. Currently a rising 1L so everything is still very fresh.
