Potential FAFSA glitch on unusual circumstances question?

I work with students to help them file their FAFSA, so I am extremely familiar with it for the most part.
Has anyone else noticed this: I’ve had multiple students now answer the unusual circumstances question (unusual circumstances and can’t provide parental information) as “yes I have unusual circumstances”. Which of course makes them an independent student.
They answered it incorrectly, they should have put “no”. So i tell them to go back in and make a correction, but the question is no longer there. So I asked the financial aid administrator at the university it was sent to make the correction, and the FAA says the question is not there for them either, and the form will not allow them to become a dependent student again.
Anything I’m doing wrong here? I’ve had this happen with 4 students now.
