Hi y’all!

I’ve had an idea for a tattoo for a while and it makes me so very happy to think about! I may finally pull the trigger on it within the next few months, but before I do…

So the idea is pretty simple — just a penguin saying “Shiver me timbers” since that’s just one of the funniest damn things offered. However… I’m struggling with how the penguin should be posed!

There’s the possibility of the penguins when they’re sledding, the possibility of the penguins when they have the maracas, but… I’m not sure! What would y’all say is the quintessential ClubPenguin pose?

(If tattoos could move, then it’d OBVIOUSLY be their little dances)

Werewolves are my favorite monster in movies and folkore, so I began a tour de books-about-werewolves. I’m on the last chapter of Those Across The River by Christopher Buehlman, the first stop on my tour, and I’ve absolutely loved it!

For those who either were a fan of that book or are just fans of werewolf horror, I have either Thor by Wayne Smith or Good Dogs by Brian Asman battling it out for which to read next. Which would you recommend?

(I started The Beast in Aisle 34 a while back and, while I may come back to it at some point, I was having trouble getting invested).

About a year ago, I took an in-depth course on Excel for my job... then never needed to use it. I became a "master" for nothing!

Anyway, I just started a new job and, because I took that course, everyone thinks I'm an excel genius...

...which is kind of annoying because they rely on me to do all these neat Excel things and I KNOW THERE'S A WAY TO DO THEM, I JUST CAN'T REMEMBER IT! AND I CAN'T FIND MY DAMN NOTES!

Anyway, I plan on taking that class again in the next week or so LOL but--

I have this set of data and all I need to do is reverse the names (so that something like "Black, John" becomes "John Black"). I'd just go manually do it... if there weren't ~2000+ cells that need it. I so feel like there's a way to do that with the text formulas, but I just cannot remember it and can't figure out the right way to phrase the question when I try to look it up.

Could someone give me a hand?

Hi y’all!

I’ve been considering applying for grad school for a while and I think I’m finally ready to take the plunge, but I have no clue how I can get letters of recommendation now. I’m only 26, but that’s still been enough time between college graduation and present day for my professors to have forgotten about me (hell, one of the ones I was considering doesn’t even work there anymore — moved to Berlin!).

I do have one professor I’ve kept in touch with who’s said multiple times that she would happily write me a LOR if I decided to go, but most of the programs I’m looking at require at least three. I mean, I have ideas for the others (including the Berlin fellow), but what do I do? Just cold email them and say “hey, I don’t know if you remember me, but we vibed and I’d love if you’d write a LOR!!”?

I do work in the field I’d be interested in going to grad school for, so I’m wondering if I could get a LOR from my boss? I mean, since it’s not academia, I doubt it, but I figured y’all might know?

Anyway, for students who’d been out of college long enough for your professors to have probably forgotten about you… how did you get your letters of recommendation?

My phone has been on the fritz for more than a hot second and replacing it is becoming unavoidable… but I’m really worried about losing all of my Finch progress. I have just about two weeks to go until I have a year-long streak and I don’t want to lose all of my finch’s discoveries and tree friends :(

How do I transfer all of that over to a new phone? I’m sure I’m far from the first person who’s had to do this, but I’m not tech savvy in the slightest :\
