Hello,
I am new to GIMP; I would like to use it to create my own rim decals for my bike. I have made myself the decals I want as seen in the top right corner. I would like these to curve round the rim. Can anyone help me with this?

I have searched online and I found a tutorial on how to do something similar, but that left the sides of the image parallel and gave a very stretched look:

It doesn't matter too much if the image pixelates since it's only going to be a stencil for a cutout.

Any help would be appreciated!

Behold, my set of three British Rail Mark II coaches in Network SouthEast livery.

Network SouthEast was a passenger sector of British Rail created in 1982 that covered much of south east England. It only ran for 11 years or so but for me the liveries are iconic.

Much of the rolling stock hauled by NSE trains were MK2a coaches. Disclaimer I don't know much about details like these but here's what I've gathered: trains were often composed of Tourist Open Second (TSO), Corridor First (FK) and Corridor Break First (BFK) coaches, which are the three models I've decided to model here.

My models aren't built to be hyper realistic but to be Lego versions of real life trains, so I try and build in a style similar to Lego sets. The coaches are slightly longer than a 'standard' lego coach (see comparison with Emerald Night coach). They don't have interiors and are built in the least expensive way whenever possible.
The doors at the end of the coaches open in the same way as the Emerald Night or Horizon Express coaches do.
The real things don't have yellow covers over the axles but black half bushes cost an arm and a leg and I think it looks quite cool like this.
