Biletide, my game about defending against a toxic oozing tide, set for release 15 July (ps anyone else find making a trailer and marketing more stressful than building the game itself?)

Biletide is a strategy/base building/tower defence game where you need to defend your base against a toxic flood. That erupts from the ground and tries to flood the map.

It is my first game on Steam and I’m nervously excited to announce it is releasing on the 15th.

Build defences, manipulate the terrain and burn it with fire.

It has been a labour of love and I'm rather nervous. I have launched other 'businesses' before but a game feels somehow much more personal. Like because it's a creative endeavour I have poured some of myself into it and so if people don't like it its like they don't like me.

Making a game is really hard and having to do a bit of everything has really shown up my weaknesses. Making a trailer has taken me ages with many false starts, and I'm still not very happy with the result. It has given me a new appreciation for some of the amazing trailers I see on this subreddit.

How do you normally go about coming up with a price to sell your game? I’m currently planning to sell it for $5.99 with a small discount during the launch week. How does that sound?

There is a campaign with 10 levels, each introducing new buildings or challenges. There is also a built in level editor and you can use Steam Workshop to share with others.

Hello base building fans. Biletide is a strategy/base building/tower defence game where you need to defend your base against a toxic flood that erupts from the ground and tries to flood the map.

It is my first game on Steam and I’m nervously excited to announce it is releasing on the 15th.

I would love some feedback on first impressions. And also some advice on price point. I’m currently thinking $5.99 with a small discount during the launch week. How does that sound? It’s my first game and I’m finding it hard to judge how pricing affects expectations..
