Should we do Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea on our first Japan trip, or skip it?

My wife and I (both 37) are visiting Japan for the first time in late Nov/early Dec. Our route is Osaka → Kyoto → Tokyo, and we’ll have limited time.

We’re not hardcore Disney fans, but we grew up watching Disney movies/cartoons and have enjoyed them. We also visited Universal Studios Singapore and absolutely loved it, so we do enjoy theme parks.

Our rough itinerary is:

Osaka – 2 days
Kyoto – 4 days (including Nara + Arashiyama)
Tokyo – ~6 days, including Mt. Fuji

Currently, we have one full day allocated to Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea.

The problem is that this means giving up one of the many other things we could do — for example:

  • Kamakura day trip
  • teamLab
  • another Tokyo neighbourhood/day
  • or potentially adding more time to Kyoto

So I’d love opinions specifically from people who have visited Tokyo Disney/DisneySea but aren't huge Disney fans:

For a first-time visitor to Tokyo, is a full day at Disneyland or DisneySea worth sacrificing one of our limited Japan days for?

Also:

  1. If we do only one, Disneyland or DisneySea?
  2. Does Tokyo Disney offer something sufficiently different/special compared with Universal Studios Singapore?
  3. For adults in their late 30s without kids, is it still a genuinely memorable experience?
  4. If you had our itinerary, would you keep Disney or replace it with something else?

We’re particularly interested in opinions from people who love Disney AND people who are fairly indifferent to Disney. Trying to avoid making the decision purely based on Disney fans saying “of course you should go!”

Thanks in advance.

Earlier New zealand, now Japan !!!

Hi - we are a couple in our late 30s and are planning our vacation from India in late November-Early December. We had shortlisted New Zealand but it seems it would get too expensive. Our budget is 6 lakhs and for 12-15 days. We are now considering Japan and seeking opinion from this group - How's Japan in December? Or any other country/countries that you would recommend?

Arbitrage funds, help?

Me and my husband are planning to invest in Arbitrage funds for the first time. Need help with the below queries :-

  1. We believe Arbitrage funds are for goals that are 5-7 years away. Correct?

  2. Does it make sense to invest in more than 1 MF for 1 goal? Like splitting the allocation with 50% in ICICI Prudential Equity Arbitrage Fund and 50% UTI Arbitrage Fund .

  3. How do Arbitrage funds make money/give returns? From what we understand they take benefit stock prices between different markets, but nothing apart from this.

  4. Any thoughts on these three funds or all of them are same - ICICI Prudential Equity Arbitrage Fund, UTI Arbitrage Fund and Kotak Arbitrage Fund.

If instead of answering you want us to follow some resource/article/youtube video, then please recommend. Thanks
