Best time of year to go to the Orlando location in terms of cost and weather?
What would be the best time of year in terms of weather and cost the summer is cheaper but the temperatures are hotter and a risk of hurricane winter is more expensive but better weather cooler temperatures and no hurricane risk.
What happened to the castle at Disney World during the 4th fireworks?
I’m watching the fireworks from Disneyland & Disney World. Disneyland had extensive projection mapping with animations, flags, rockets, etc. Cinderella Castle looks like it’s in B mode: color washes, & a few star gels. Is that what they meant to do?
Fantasyland vs. World Showcase
I would like to know something about the difference between Fantasyland and World Showcase. They both utilize the same architecture in some areas.
Just to give you an example, the Pinocchio Village Haus has similar architecture to the Germany Pavilion. I have images of the two side by side above, which have similar architecture. Even the area music loops for both sound similar, if not identical (you can listen on YouTube if you're interested). That's just one example. Actually, two examples.
This whole thing about Fantasyland vs. World Showcase grew out of my curiosity about why some people find the Frozen boat ride in the Norway pavilion so objectionable, mainly because Arendelle is not a real place and as such trivializes the World Showcase theme. It's not just ordinary people on social media, either, it's also people who write books about WDW, including Bob Sehlinger and Aaron Wallace, who think that World Showcase should be about real countries first and characters second, and that Arendelle should have been put someplace else, like maybe Fantasyland, which is apparently not about cultures (though even that's slightly debatable given Small World), but about stories. I personally don't have much of a problem with the Frozen boat ride, but a lot of people do.
So what, then, are the differences between Fantasyland and World Showcase? Is it that one celebrates culture while the other does not? Even that's not entirely true, if Small World is any indication. And then there's the complaint about how Tiana's Bayou Adventure has no business being in Frontierland either, but would have fit in Fantasyland.
Again, what does Fantasyland have (or doesn't have) that World Showcase or Frontierland don't have (or do)?

What would Walt's involvement have been with the Magic Kingdom had he lived longer?
It's safe to say that Walt was hyperfocused (maybe even obsessed) with EPCOT and making it a reality. Even on his deathbed, he is said to have been daydreaming and developing the plans in his mind. However, most material put out before Walt's death really only mentions the Magic Kingdom park as a footnote of the larger Florida Project.
With that in mind, I have always wondered how much he would have been involved in the construction of the Magic Kingdom if he had lived longer? Do you think that he would have been as involved as he was with Disneyland, or would he have stepped back enough to oversee while working on the larger project?
The only thing that makes me question it is how absurdly large the scale of EPCOT would have been. I can't imagine Walt working on Disney World (the parks, hotels, and other infrastructure itself being much larger than Disneyland) while also continuing development of EPCOT.
What’s your earliest Disney Parks memory that you can still picture really clearly, almost like a scene from a movie?
Just curious what moment from your earliest Disney trip is still burned into your memory like a scene you could replay in your head—something small, vivid, and unforgettable
Photos taken before disaster
See its funny cause realistically the tower of terror by all definitions could murder you if it wanted too
So taking a photo dressed like that next to it is kind of ironic cause the last people who went in there dressed like that got zapped
Greece at Epcot?
I've been seeing several posts about which countries people would like to see added to World Showcase at Epcot, and the most requested country has been Greece, someone even called it the most "obvious choice", and in many cases, they suggested a Hercules ride
Look, I agree that Greece would be an excellent pavilion in World Showcase, with its iconic culture, architecture, cuisine, and mythology, and Hercules is a great movie in its own right
But I think World Showcase feels somewhat "Eurocentric". It already features mostly European countries, while it doesn't adequately represent South America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania enough to truly be considered a "permanent world fair"
And to top it all off, a Hercules attraction simply wouldn't fit well in Epcot, just like Frozen and Ratatouille. These are simply blatant attempts to promote intellectual property in parks where it doesn't belong. I've read that many of you disagree with adding Zootopia to Animal Kingdom because its urban setting and premise of anthropomorphic animals acting like humans clash with AK's theme and message. But would Hercules fit in a Greek pavilion when it so drastically distorts and contradicts their mythology? If the film was hated by Greeks when it was released in 1997, even though it was marketed as a story independent of the myths, I don't want to imagine their reaction if it were implemented in a pavilion that's supposed to be representative of their authentic culture
If Greece were to come to Epcot someday, they should follow the example of the 2004 Olympics opening ceremony, which was amazing and truly a tribute to their rich culture and history
Fantasy Springs Tokyo help!
Hiyaa, i’m due to go on my very first trip to Japan and i’m so confused on how disney hotels work. I have my heart set on doing a night at the Fantasy Springs hotel, but I don’t understand how to the vacation package including park tickets and fast passes works. Is it something you buy separately or is it something you get automatically when staying at the hotel? Google isn’t helping me out very much! Thank you in advance ☺️

latimes.com[BOTD] Celebrating festival season with my full Epcot theme! 🍇🌸🗺️
Hey everyone! Sharing my bracelet for today, which is completely dedicated to Epcot. It's easily one of my favorite parks to walk around, so I wanted a design that captured that specific festival energy.
The layout relies heavily on a mix of limited-edition Food & Wine Festival and Flower & Garden Festival charms. To anchor the World Showcase vibe, I also included several of the Mickey country-specific charms. Some of my favorite details on here are the cluster of Figment pieces at the bottom, the Orange Bird dangles, and the Remy chef disc.
I'd love to know how many festival pieces you've managed to collect, or which Disney park is your personal favorite to visit!
