Hot Take: I am considerably more excited for the Maleficent coaster than I am for the Figment update.
Finally feels like Disneys big answer to Hagrids at Universal, which since 2019 hasn’t yet been beat in terms of themed coasters.

2026:
Hexed: 350-400m WW
I think this movie does decently. The concept looks to be appealing enough for families, and I believe WOM won't be too much of a hinderance for it. It also works as a secondary option during the Dunesday apocalypse. Not a massive win, but better than their previous outings.
2027
Ice Age: The Boiling Point: 300-400m
I do think Ice Age as a franchise has reached its limit, similar to Transformers and Pirates.
Gatto: 600-700m WW
I'm taking a big swing here but I just have a massive feeling with more and more of the marketing being presented that this will be a Pixar classic. It looks very appealing, and the story structure is very similar to the movies of the 2000s. I think loads of people will flock to this one.
Bluey: 400-500m
Bluey is an absolutely massive property, but it runs into the problem of not being four quadrant. Still for this type of film it's going to be a massive hit.
The New Simpsons Movie: 400-500m
The original movie made over 500m so there is an audience for this legendary franchise to drive moviegoers. I just need more information before I can really call anything.
Frozen 3: 1.5-1.6b
The saying used to be "Never doubt James Cameron", and I believe it should be changed to "Never doubt Queen Elsa." Frozen 3 is going to be massive theirs no doubt, but the question really is, How far can it go?
2028
Ghost Market: 350-400m WW
See this doing similar numbers to this years Hoppers. Apparently test screenings for this have been through the roof so there's always chance for a big breakout.
Incredibles 3: 1.0-1.1b
See it doing slightly less than the previous installment due to really nothing being able to match the Incredibles 2 hype, and this franchise being more domestic heavy compared to other Disney franchises. Still will be big.
Clay: 400-450m
Cool concept, and In my opinion has a lot of potential to do good business. Not much else to say until we get more information.
2029 and Beyond
Coco 2: 1.5-1.6b
Coco is one.of those movies in almost the exact same boat as Zootopia and Inside Out. All three of these movies released around the same time, and instantly became classics. Zootopia and Inside Out both had their sequels zoom past 1.5b, and I see the same happening for Coco.
Zootopia 3: 2.0-2.1b
Jumping on the 2 billion train for this one. China is ride or die for this franchise, and I'm not seeing a world where that slows down. Zootopia 2 also had fantastic late legs which also shows a level of domestic regained interest which will absolutely benefit this third outing
The land in Shanghai looks absolutely incredible, and Zootopia as a property feels so underutilized stateside especially with how popular the franchise is, and how much potential there is for it.
Hoping to see it be the first announced Disneyland Forward project.
NOTE: I still haven’t seen NeZha 2 so that won’t be ranked.
2026 has been a wonderful year in terms of box office success. So far five movies have crossed that elusive billion dollar mark, and we might as well name a sixth as there's absolutely zero chance Doomsday will miss. So the real question is what 2027 has to offer?
THE LOCKS:
Avengers: Secret Wars
Frozen 3
You might as well call this a free bingo slot. These two movies are as locked up for that club as they could be.
THE HOPEFULS:
Shrek 5 - Weak trailer reception aside curiosity may bring assistance to this similarly to 2025s Minecraft.
Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse - Spider-Man seems to get more and more popular as the years drive on. Will this have a positive effect on the conclusion of Miles Morales trilogy?
A Minecraft Sequel - Minecraft made over 900m back in 2025, however it might've been a one trick pony considering its negative buzz.
LONGSHOTS
Star Wars Starfighter - Lets be honest, Star Wars is damaged, but not beyond saving. Could Gosling carry yet another Sci Fi story?
Legend of Zelda - Could this be another Mario? Or does it fall into a more niche category similarly to Sonic.
Lord of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum - Andy Serkis does not spell confidence, but could this make good money off brand recognition.
Man of Tommorow - Supergirl was massive dud, but can Gunn turn this franchise to the right path with the sequel to his well received follow up?
What do you think? What 2027 movies do you see joining the billion dollar club?
1: Avengers Endgame - 5 days
2: Avengers Infinity War - 11 days
3: NeZha 2 - 12 days
4: Star Wars The Force Awakens - 12 days
5: Spider-Man No Way Home - 12 days
6: Jurassic World - 13 days
7: Avatar The Way of Water - 14 days
8: Zootopia 2 - 17 days
9: Furious 7 - 17 days
10: The Fate of the Furious - 18 days
Since Spider-Man Brand New Day is currently tracking around 600-700m WW on its opening weekend it seems extremely likely that it will be joining this list. Where do you potentially see it placing on this chart?
This ain’t a dig at Moana. I love Moana but it’s kinda wild to see the difference in trajectory these two movies have had.
Like who thought making this was a good idea? One of the most dull and lifeless movies I have ever seen that good animation and ok music can’t save.
