Douce Ame (Capon in Milk and Honey)

Douce Ame (Capon in Milk and Honey)

Made this tonight and it was delicious. My family isn’t picky but it’s still rare when every single person likes the dish. Everyone liked this! One of my kids described it thusly: “The flavors are very polite”. And all requested that we make it again. Winner winner chicken dinner!

I was personally concerned about the mint, but the dish wasn’t minty at all. It wasn’t too sweet either, even with the honey. Just the barest hint of sweetness. Really really good dish. Thank you Max!!

Grannies episode

Watched the Grannies episode tonight and started thinking about Bluey saying “You can only do what grannies do and grannies don’t Floss!”

But apparently they whack innocent shopworkers with their canes, shoplift baked beans, randomly fall asleep in public, and drive incredibly recklessly. What kind of grannies do these kids hang around with?? 😂😂

I'm dropping off my pomegranate jelly to the state fair tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Haven't attached the labels yet. But these beauties are the selected ones! My state fair has a section exclusively for pomegranate jelly, so I know going in it's gonna be a crowded field.

Ball pomegranate jelly recipe with juice from my parfianka pomegranate bush.

I have at least one puzzle that is missing pieces (one is missing ALL the corners and edge pieces- how does that even happen??) If they had all the pieces I would give them away to be enjoyed again but what do I do with them now? If I can avoid adding them to the landfill that would be my first choice.
