Portrait 3 suddenly cutting wrong between sheets

Hi! I have a portrait 3 that’s been working ok so far with some occasional registration mark reading issues. It’s been a lot better about that lately since I’ve learned to keep the lid closed while it reads the marks.

I typically cut white matte vinyl sticker paper. Cutting the first sheet went just fine and the cuts were perfect. Then the next sheet, it was misaligned. I tried a different sheet, misaligned. To be clear, these are different files/designs, not the same as the first one. Reloading the sheet, manually aligning the blade to read the mark, wiping the camera/laser area, and coloring the mark with black wasn’t working. Calibration test, looks perfect.

I made a new file following silhouette’s instruction video to rule out any file/scaling issues. It’s misaligned all over—using offset won’t work. I cut a second one and it’s misaligned roughly in the same spots. These were cut on copy paper to rule out material issues. You can see this cut in the first photo and the second photo is a calibration test done right after.

Anyone know what could be the problem? It happened literally between cuts. I also reached out to support who directed me to that video but I’m hoping someone here might have an idea. TIA

SOLVED: The mat wasn’t sticky enough. The paper was buckling causing cuts to be skewed. Switching it out with another one fixed the problem

Drew some Frenchies :)

I tried to capture their personality and coat variety. I figured this sub might enjoy these :)

Sealing prints on wood?

I hear some protective coats can make the design look cloudy or doesn’t adhere well. Any suggestions for sealing birch plywood with uv printed designs? Ideally something that works for like a coaster or keychain—which may get a little wet

Hi! I’m a traditional and digital artist with a realistic style. I mainly draw people and pets but I’m looking to expand my portfolio with fantasy portraits using ocs, sonas, or you/your pet. I will draw some realistic portrait busts either with paint on canvas or digitally.

💜

I’m looking to draw:

-Anthro (furry, avian, scalie, etc)

-Humanoid (mermaid, centaur, kemonomimi, etc)

-Fantasy version of yourself

-Pets with human body

💜

What I’m NOT looking for:

-Mechs/robots

-Fully original species or mythical species with no real-life reference (dragon, phoenix, etc)

-NSFW

💜

Requirement:

I work from real references. If you want:

-Yourself or your pet drawn in a fantasy style → send photo references of you or your pet

-A humanoid OC/sona → include a real-life face/body/person to reference and provide a reference sheet

-Anthro OC → provide a reference sheet

These portraits will be shared on my socials so you must be ok with that!

💜

Please don’t DM me, post your refs below (exceptions are those who want themselves turned into fantasy) and comment your fav color so I know you read this :)

ETA: I’ll be working on this in my free time so I’m in no rush to choose now. Feel free to comment even if it’s been a few days. To those I’ve picked, I’ll definitely be sharing the finished piece with you when I’m done!
