Doll Photoshoot

I wanted to take Felicity and maybe a couple of other of my girls to this really cute spot near me that’s colonial themed this week. It’s decorated for America’s 250th birthday and it would be the perfect photoshoot spot (plus for me to get some more experience handling the camera), but I feel weird about it. Like…nervous someone will see me or think I’m weird. 😭

Have any of you guys done photoshoots in public with your dolls? How do you get past the feeling of being worried what others would think? I know I should not be stressing about this, but I just am. I wanted to do this photoshoot especially because this is such a significant Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Honoring and Remembering the Fallen on D-Day

Today marks the 82nd Anniversary of the Operation Overlord (D-Day), where thousands of Allied troops sacrificed their lives in the name of freedom by storming the beaches of Normandy, France. This mission successfully liberated Western Europe from fascism.

Molly is remembering and honoring the ultimate sacrifice so many gave 82 years ago today. She means a lot to me as my grandfather served in WWII at just the young age of 19 in the Pacific Front and her story reminds me of him. She is holding his flag from 1945 that he kept all those years and ultimately was passed down to me! WWII history has always interested me and I believe that my grandfather was the catalyst for that interest. 🇺🇸🪖

Fiancé Surprised me with a trip to get Samantha 🎀

Title says it all — he is still creeped out about AG dolls and dolls in general though. 🤣 But, SHE’S HOME!!!! 🎀❤️

My birthday is in June and he didn’t want me waiting on her back order date because it would be close to August by the time she came. She’s STUNNING and looks good with her sisters, Molly and Felicity. He did say if he had to choose, Felicity was his favorite, but he didn’t want to choose. 💀

Now just need Kirsten to complete the OG four collection!

Facebook Marketplace Situation

I was literally about to go meet up with a seller to score an Elizabeth Cole doll, but something happened which caused me to cancel the meet up and I’m going back and forth on if I should have or not.

The seller was kind of “short” with me in their responses, but not unfriendly. The doll was $150, no box, no meet accessories except for her pearl necklace, but came in her meet outfit and had pretty decent looking/fixable hair. The seller wanted to meet at a mall, so that’s a green flag. However, in my experience with FB Marketplace, you don’t pay for anything until you see the item in person. If the seller ever asks for payment ahead of time, that’s a red flag. I asked if they were okay with me Venmoing them upon arrival/seeing the doll in person. They said they needed the money when I got to the mall and they’d release the doll to me. Fair enough. I said, “Yes! Will do once I get there/see her!” The seller responded, “I’ll need it when you’re in route to the mall and then i’ll hand you the doll.”

…uhh no I don’t send money ahead of time. This turned into a red flag for me. They could have had bad experiences in the past with selling, which is understandable, but buyers please protect yourselves and your hard-earned money.

I told them I was going to have to pass as I typically don’t release funds until I see the item in person…not ahead of time or en route to the location.

Did I do the right thing? I’m kicking myself because she’s so rare, but I also want to protect myself.

She’s so beautiful! Her green eyes are stunning. I’m so happy I jumped on getting her. She is hanging out with Molly who I got a few years ago when she was re-released and she met Julie and Ivy (childhood gifts), but they went back into their boxes for safe keeping since they’re a lot older.

The “Felicity’s World” book is super cool too! What a blast from the past. I remember seeing her collection in the catalogs. I remember wanting her so bad I wish I would have asked for her for Christmas! 🎄 The details with her collection are so insanely intricate.

I can’t wait to get a shelf so I can display my historical girls and freak my fiancé out! He thinks they’re creepy. 🫣🤣💖

Does this mean I have until July to purchase her?? 👀 Do I have time??? My birthday is at the end of June so she may be a birthday present ask lol we are buying a house this year so I do know I need to chill at the same time.

I want Kirsten eventually as well, but I’m also on the fence and the more I think about the next doll I keep thinking about Samantha, but I know Kirsten in good condition is hard to come by. First world problems…I know lol I love how unique Kirsten looks, but I’m not sure I’m that into her story if that makes sense. She’s a beautiful doll, but I feel more connected to Samantha if I had to choose.

I’m so nervous about waiting too long to get the next doll. I got my fav girl ever, Molly, a few years ago upon her re-release and bought Felicity in this re-release. Those were the two of my childhood favorites, along with Julie and Ivy who I also have and received as a present when I was a kid. Scared they’ll never bring the historical girls back lol but I know that’s probably not true.
