sup yall lmao so i was fired monday 😂 less than a month after i returned from short term disability.

they said the reason was “job abandonment” because they couldn’t reach me at the contact info they had on file.

except… i literally communicated with the leave manager that same day, and she responded.

today i got an email from operations asking to schedule a meeting to discuss my concerns about the termination and possible reinstatement lol. i’m honestly unsure about going back at this point and leaning heavily toward not returning.

i honestly don’t even know how to feel. this place is a mess. when i came back, my account was disabled and i was told to call IT to fix it. i called dozens of times and kept getting different answers every time. it finally got fixed after about two weeks.

i’ve already applied for unemployment and honestly i’m kind of relieved to not be working there anymore. this job has been hell and is the main reason i ended up on disability in the first place.

right now my plan is to stay on unemployment while i look for something else or go back to school to finish my degree, maybe do a work study. i don’t want to jump into another situation where i’m just taking whatever comes my way.

hey all

so long story short, i’ve been having ongoing plumbing issues in my bathroom. the tub hasn’t been draining properly and there’s been standing water accumulating for awhile now.

i notified management and maintenance came out first. they used some kind of powdered drain cleaner which obviously didn’t resolve anything and then said they’d put in a work order for a plumber.

sooo the plumber finally came today along with a member of the maintenance team. while they were in the bathroom, i overheard the plumber tell maintenance that the bathtub itself was cracked and that it likely explained why the pipes/drain situation was such a mess.

i also overheard the plumber directing maintenance to do certain things like use a plunger, run the water, etc. so maintenance was actively helping during the visit.

at one point the plumber said he was going to get something from his truck, but he never did lmao. 15 minutes later maintenance came out of the bathroom and informed me he was done.

there was no mention at all of the cracked tub and he was holding an empty bottle of drain remover. when i brought up the cracked tub , he acted confused and said he didn’t know what i was talking about.

after they left, i tested the tub myself and the problems are still there.

the tub does not retain water at all even with a new drain stopper installed and is extremely hard to use.

i emailed management and am waiting for a response but i am pissed. i’m paying rent to live here that goes up annually so things should be properly addressed and fixed, not some quick broken patch job.

i’m glad i have everything in writing and sent the email asap. i’m wondering what their response will be and if they tell me nothing else can be done or stall.

the plumber did work at a legit company which is even more confusing.
has anyone ever had an experience like this?

is it normal for maintenance to assist on that level?

should they have used the drain cleaner?

how worried should i be about a cracked tub? i have a daughter and im worried about us using it. should i contact the township? or just be quiet and endure it? i dont have the funds to move currently so thats not an option.
