My friend is originally from Lviv and has a birthday approaching. She’s one of those people who has everything, so for her birthday I’d like to make her dinner and dessert that will remind her of home. Any recommendations? I know I could ask her, but she’d tell me not worry about it and I’d like to surprise her :)
I feel like I struggled my way through law school and now I’m struggling my way through practice. I know for some people, law school was great and easy but I really had to sit with the material and struggle with it for days and fight so hard to be average. I thought that once I started practicing, it would get better because it’s different than school. Now I’m struggling in different ways: expectations, time management, people pleasing. I want so desperately to just quit it all and be a receptionist again so I don’t have to live in this constant grind, but I didn’t come this far to just get this far. But I also hate it. Sigh.
I’m a first year and I’m about to get kicked off a matter I’ve been working on the last two months. Partner is frustrated with my performance, and I’m frustrated by the lack of clear directions and shifting goal posts. As much as I’m worried about my reputation, I’m probably more relieved to get away from the toxic partner. I’m thinking the legal field just ain’t for me.
