And no he isn’t as wide as this appears lol
Those that have had ACDF first, how did PCDF differ in recovery?
I am reaching my limit with constant severe pain and being damn near housebound. But like most of us I am worried things could go either way if I tried to do a fourth surgery C4-C6 PCDF. Anterior was brutal to me but by the third approach I felt it got easier I just knew it was gonna suck bad for a few months. So what was different to you, how long did you take off work or need help in general? The first operation I had was a failed adr experience, so I’m extremely fearful of what it could do to my life if things could get worse.
She’s such a timid dog that when she’s brave enough to take the kids toy I’m like actually good job 🤣
Journavx first thoughts
I asked to try this med months ago maybe for one week out of the month to have more relief and they told me no. In the middle of agreeing to 10 mg oxy increase they changed their mind and offered Journavx to me. Had no prob with insurance as they suspected I would have. Tried my first two tablets today grocery shopping in person with my husband I usually cannot do at all.
Maybe it’s placebo? But I feel some pain relief, 100% I do feel the tingly leg feeling side effect. It’s like 100 sewing pins stuck into me but bearable. Anyone else using it like this one week a month? Picture of my view 99% most days.
I’m rich in life if this is my evening walk
Hormones and pain
So as I get farther in my 30s, it’s become easier to track my ovulation and cycle in general as things are very apparent. My question is- does anyone’s chronic pain become more tolerable during ovulation? I know for me my mood is a bit better and the world seems to be a happy place.
Instead of my usual 8/9 pain it’s more like a 6/7 and I’d love to recreate it the rest of the month but I’m literally doing nothing else different. I have PCOS and had my hormones tested a few years ago but because they were slightly out of textbook range they basically said all was good. Maybe I need some extra estrogen? Idk.
I ain’t the brightest crayon in the box, but I don’t think that bottom level is fused after 3 years of non stop pain.
The top fusion to me is harder to see as well - but surgeon also suspecting it did not fuse either. God help me I already had a failed ADR at C5C6 get me out of this simulation.
This is a risk we all take I had no idea about when it comes to spine surgery. I had 5+ surgeons in my state tell me I was fully fused and insane for questioning it. Until I went out of state and consulted with a neurosurgeon that does complex cases.
Should I still try the shot with a ‘pristine’ MRI?
Long story short I had my life ruined by a failed neck surgery, but one of the mystery symptoms that started was severe mid back pain when I’m upright. So I spend hours a day laying on my side. I’ve been begging for help and also asking about my revision cervical fusion I knew it did not fuse right.. so I did finally find someone to do a medial branch block in my thoracic spine I can try (already did epidural).
Problem is I just met with a well regarded neurosurgeon who basically said I did not fuse at either of my cervical spine levels and that it could be referred pain. He said I should get some cervical nerve blocks before having a convo about a posterior fusion.. I’m in desperate times.. should I get both blocks done in both thoracic and cervical? I’ve been barking up wrong trees it feels like for 4 years now. He said don’t bother doing the T spine because of my MRI but…
