Best way to play against a counter attacking defensive team of lower quality

I’m facing someone that’s got less quality in terms of player ability. They are going to park the bus and play counter attacking football which worked in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. What’s the best approach here? I am home in this game.

Rewards without ads playing on desktop browser

A friend of mine has identified a glitch on their browser where ads don’t play after clicking, he just gets the rewards. Any idea how to do that?

ILR - Do people upload the document checklist?

For those who have already been granted ILR, did you upload the checklist as well, or just the supporting documents? Did anyone get approved without uploading the checklist?

ILR application - Absences before Skilled Worker visa?

I was on a Student visa from 2017-2021 and switched to a Skilled Worker visa in August 2021 from within the UK.

I'm now applying for ILR based on 5 years on the Skilled Worker route.

The application asks for the date I "first entered the
UK" and notes this should be the date I'm basing my
ILR application on. This clearly means just the 5 years SWV period and searching on this sub confirms this.

It then asks for absences since "first entering the
UK", which needs to be evidenced in my employer letter.

  1. Am I right in thinking I only need to include absences from August 2021 onwards, and not the two holidays I took while on my Student visa?
  2. Should I mention this in a cover letter, or just answer the question as written?

Obviously the employer letter will not evidence my 2 absences during student visa, but at the same time l want to be transparent.
Anyone that has experienced this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.

Separate employer reimbursement on bank statement for Skilled Worker ILR

I’m preparing my Skilled Worker ILR application. My salary was paid on payday and exactly matches my payslip.

Two days later, I received a separate £20 payment from the same employer as reimbursement for a team social activity ticket that I had paid for.

On my bank statement, both transactions simply show my employer’s name and “Automated Credit” with no payment reference.

Would you mention this £20 reimbursement in a cover letter, or just leave it as it’s clearly a separate payment from my salary? I don’t know if this will confuse the caseworker and potentially delay the application?

Has anyone had a similar situation when submitting bank statements for ILR?

Thanks!

Engine drinks oil, use thicker oil?

I have a Peugeot 208 2013 that drinks oil like crazy. Current guidance says 5W30 synthetic oil, would it be okay to use 10w40?

MN1 for 3yr old previous address question

I’m completing a citizenship application for my 3-year-old son and I’m unsure how to answer the question:

“Have you lived at your current address for 5 years?”

If I answer “No” (which is technically correct, since he’s only 3), the application asks me to provide previous addresses, which he doesn’t have.

If I answer “Yes”, I feel like I’d be providing inaccurate information because he obviously hasn’t lived anywhere for 5 years.

Has anyone come across this before? How did you answer it, or is there specific guidance for young children?

Considering either selecting “yes” to the previous 5 years question and adding a cover letter at the end to explain that my son has lived there since he was born. OR to just provide my (the parent of the applicant) previous address history that ends at the date he was born

SWV->ILR Documents (optional?)

Seen lots of post about people submitting ILR applications with a long list of documents they included. Others talk about only providing what’s on the checklist given at the end of the application.

Just want to know which is better to do? Some say providing lots of documents can have a negative impact on processing times as the case worker has to review all documents.

MN1 Referee Approach

How did people applying for MN1 for their toddler request references from GP’s/midwives/health visitor? I have a 2.5 year old applying for MN1 and I am unsure the best way to reach out to the GP/midwife/health visitor. My toddler does not go to nursery, although she does go to the local library twice a week for play sessions and interacts with the professional there in charge of the sessions.

Just wanted to ask the community how the referees were approached give the requirement that for MN1 applications the referee has to have interacted with the child in a professional setting.

I owe £70 in tax from interest savings for the tax year 2025/26.

Is there a way I can pay it upfront without my tax code changing for the rest of the year? I am aware I can pay off the £70 I'm owing, but I believe HMRC estimate that you would earn the same amount of interest in the following tax year (2026/2027). Am I able to tell them not to change my tax code as I am certain I will not earn the same interest this tax year.

Edit: I am on PAYE
