They commented on a(one of the 2) post in my account. Sounded very much like a scammer trying to blackmail a user rather than a company.

Full disclosure, my account didn't renew its monthly payment for a "Cadet" membership for some reason. I didn't click on the link because like I said, it looked very much like a phishing link. Only after going through the website again did I see that the payment wasn't done and I had to manually renew it for this month.

But seriously is this legit?

The Laestrygonians being in armour. A theory.

I was wondering why the Laestrygonians were in armour and how a whole bunch of armoured warriors with weapons came completely out of the blue, ready to fight.

My theory is that when Odysseus and crew raided the first village, the survivors spread the word to nearby villages of raiders from the sea. This began the legend of the “Sea people”.

The Laestrygonians probably heard about this and set up an army outpost in their beach to protect their home from the sea people’s raids.
And once the sea people finally came, which happened to be Odysseus and crew, they fought them off.

Even the child was in armour and he laughed at them when he saw them. He probably thought wow these sea people are so small but later saw the numbers and screamed attracting the army.

The Laestrygonians probably informed the rest of the nearby villagers that one ship escaped and they might come back with more thus spreading and adding more to the myth of the sea people which finally reached Telamachus through Manalaus.

Just watched the Odyssey and I have some thoughts

  1. Elliot Page was a good cast in it. I just read that some folks still have problems with that casting even when the character isn’t Achilles.

  2. I didn’t care for the Scylla. I was excited for it before the movie but was slightly disappointed. I always imagined the Scilla to have something like the skin texture of Davy Jones’ from Pirates of the Caribbean. The tentacles etc.

  3. Circe and her story was so good! The way she sculpted them.

  4. The Cyclops horror was my favourite. It genuinely made me uncomfortable on my seat. I just realised he took inspiration from painting of Saturn eating his kids for the Cyclops.

  5. Athena’s visits felt unnecessary to the story until the very end.

  6. I didn’t like the casting choice for Agamemnon. The armour was purely to establish screen presence but the moment he started speaking Bennie Safdie’s voice wasn’t the best. It felt soft. Agamemnon was supposed to be this powerful king and the voice that came out felt more like someone speaking on a podcast. Even when the helmet removed they should have cast someone who looks older than Menelaus. Not someone who looks like his baby brother.

  7. Robert Pattinson was on fire! Most Perfect casting imo.

  8. Dialogues continue to be Nolan’s Achilles heel. There were moments when it took me out of the movie immersion that even the imax screen couldn’t stop.

  9. I actually like how Troy and all Bronze Age cities were portrayed here. Not epic like in the movie Troy did but still urban settlements with Bronze Age limitations.

  10. Costumes looked out of place though.

These are just my opinions.

What's your experience with the X100VI vs the XE-5, minus the obvious spec differences?

Hi I'm a long time Nikon user and do a bit of film photography as well and I'm planning on getting either the X100VI or the XE5. I know on paper they're essentially the same camera but I would like to know if there are any specific user experiences that separates one from the other. I'll only be getting one lens for the XE5 (If I'm getting the XE5 so lens interchangeability doesn't really bother me for the foreseeable future)
I would like to know if the inbuilt ND Filter is regularly used and if the weather sealing actually matters for someone who's travelling with a family and planning on taking it for family vacations at the beach or any other nuances that I may have overlooked that's not actively talked about by YouTubers.

How do I get the pink and violet hues from the first photo consistently on my phone?

These are 2 photos I took just minutes apart. First one at 7:02 pm and the second at 6:54 pm.

I’ve been trying to get the pink and violet hues from the first picture consistently. This is actually the first time I’ve got it on my phone.
I had taken another photo just seconds apart from the first photo but it came out similar to the second photo you see here(I deleted that one )

True colours of that evening is actually more close to the first photo.

My hypothesis is that the yellow lamp in the first photo balanced out the white balance to give the pink hues.

I know that the iPhone does a lot of computational photography but I can’t seem to get these results on my dslr as well.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

TIA!
