I have one 40 and decided I wanted to load some 40 and give it a shot. I normally load my 9 exclusively with CFE pistol and love how clean the powder is and the overall performance of it.
I recently bought some Berry's RNFP 165gn bullets and when I got home I checked my Hornady Manual for some starting load for 165 gn but there isn't any for 165 gn projectiles. I checked the Hodgden it says starting load is 6.9gn with a 1.125 COL but the JHP start at 6.0.
I'm just trying to double check that 6.0gn if CFE with a 1.125 COL, crimp diameter I have .423 is a safe start?
Side note: I'm just looking for plinking ammo. I don't chase speeds if anything I'd prefer to work the load up to just off the shelf target load feel.
