First time keeping book by myself (Syracuse Mets vs Norfolk Tides, 6-3 SMets win)
Title says it all. My Grandpa and I used to do all the time when I was a wee lil’ man (he would keep score and try to explain everything to me as he went along) but we stopped doing it when he got sick and passed away. I’ve been getting back into baseball a lot more over the last few years and recently decided keeping score would be a fun way to experience baseball games as it adds a more interactive, hands-on addition to the experience, so I bought a book & a multi-colored pen to try and color coordinate everything. Not sure how bad or good I did for a first time but it definitely wound up being a lot of fun. I plan on doing this for the foreseeable future if I can help it. My scorebook for today was also signed by two friendly dudes I wound up chit-chatting with the whole time I was watching the game. I figured it adds a little pizzazz and a personal flavor to the whole experience.
Didn’t add in pitcher or hitter stats, probably won’t, it feels extracurricular when the cards themselves tell the story perfectly fine I think. Aside from that what should I consider doing in the future when keeping book aside from maybe keeping a key of what all the different colors are supposed to mean?
