European countries should have their own ASML
European countries (excl. NL) should have their own ASML.
From a national-interest perspective, it’s rational for other European countries to have their own “ASML,” especially given current turbulent geopolitical tensions and misaligned interests of European countries. Having their own ASML can bring more high-skilled jobs, local supply chains, tax revenue, technological sovereignty, resilience against geopolitical shocks, and a larger share of the global semiconductor market. Depending on a single country for a critical technology creates strategic and economic vulnerabilities for everyone else.
