Finding a bf as a gay man in a homophobic city

Hey everyone! I’m a gay 20 year old man living in Glendale, CA (a city that’s very conservative and very homophobic) and I find it impossible to date in Glendale. I’ve never had any kind of close contact, relationship wise, with a man. I’ve had girls be interested in me but never a man tell me he is.

A lot of people in Glendale are homophobic, making it hard to come out and find men to date. And if you are a gay man it’s scary to express your feelings to another guy. I’m wondering what advice anyone has or if anyone knows what I can do?? Also, I do not have the finances to move out and can in no way come out to my family.
Thank you!!!

Not liking Armenia as an Armenian

I know this is gonna sound insane but hear me out. I was born in Armenia and my family moved to the US when I was 6. We visited when I was 8 and never went back. I’m not 19. Meaning it has been 11 years since I’ve been to Armenia.

My family decided it’s time to finally visit again and it’s been three days and I already hate it. First of all, we’re being forced to sit down and have dinner with people we’re not close to. You don’t speak for 15 minutes and everyone says “xi ches xosum” (“why aren’t you speaking?”) A lot of people are incredibly rude and just mean. Their nose is in your business constantly.

People just don’t understand that you want to come see the country and not follow orders from others. Does anyone else experience this or is it just me? Or have I become so American that I hate people that act like this?
