House prices falling

This week there has been a spotlight on house prices falling in Sydney and Melbourne however does this tell the whole story?

According to Cotality (our biggest property data aggregator) prices have reduced by 1.3% across all capitals.

Whilst this is good news for those looking to buy. It doesn’t tell you that over the financial year the prices increased by 6%.

So it’s not all good news, housing is still unaffordable for most people but it should reduce in the coming months.

Whilst waiting may mean lower prices one change in the market can send prices up again. So if you are keen to buy, the best time is when you are ready not when you think prices will be lowest.

Application Killer

A lot of clients ask me what a bank would be most concerned about in their accounts statements.

It’s not Uber Eats - it’s gambling.

We are seeing more and more clients with substantial habits and it’s killing loan applications.

Even if it’s not entirely clear you are gambling - if you are withdrawing money from ATMs at pubs, casinos etc they are going to make the assumption.

If this is you - register for Bet Stop and seek some assistance to kick the habit.

*** FYI I do not work for a bank, simply posted to help spread a message.
