most vacations are more stressful than staying home

between planning, packing, airports, schedules, crowds, and unexpected problems, many vacations feel like work with extra expenses. a few days at home with no obligations can be far more relaxing than spending thousands of dollars traveling somewhere just because you're supposed to.
