What are some theories about how LVT and zoning restrictions interplay?

I have some lefty friends in NYC who have become quite into LVT. On the whole it looks fine if your goal is to create maximal utilization of valuable land... but in many cities in the US there are pretty strict zoning or 'community board' approval processes that interfere with that.

For example, I live in a historic district, and the building technically has unused air rights, but they're practically inaccessible because any additional structure modification would not be in compliance with Landmarks and Preservation 'visible from the street' restrictions.

Did some googling but couldn't find examples of how LVT and zoning or historic preservation intersects in places it's been implemented.

Difference in beef quality?

Has anyone noticed a noticeable difference in quality between the two brands of beef carried at the coop? I forget both names but one is a white and green label, the other is silver with black text.

Not trying to bias anybody, but we've come to a conclusion, and I'm curious if we have just tricked ourselves have a preference/find a difference in taste?

Pickle pub error rate on orders?

I swear, at least a quarter of the time they mess up my order, like leaving capers off or getting hot sauce or something like that. Is that everyone’s experience or do they just not like me?

Strange beeping north slope?

it almost sounds like one of those sounds and electric car makes when it backs up this sort of pleasant but persistent “bong bong” - anyone hear it?

can hear it in Carroll and Garfield between ppw and 8th - strangely intermittent has been going off for a week

I was in migration hell - the fix was super weird

I upgraded from a UDM-SE to a Beast with a 6 switch network, 12 APs and 8 cameras. Migration should have been simple/fine, used a backup and restore onto the new device.

After migration, I was in complete hell. Network had tons of random hangs, https errors, links were flapping, STP topology made no sense... tried everything, talked to UI support, even used Claude to try to diagnose it.

On a whim, I tried removing my U5G Max Outdoor. Entire network reset, switches lost connection, but when it came back up everything was working fine again. Since then I re-adopted the U5G Max Outdoor and things are working fine again.

Somehow the U5G Max Outdoor had failed to migrate properly and was trying to assert control over the network.

Question: why are there so few high end restaurants?

The neighborhood is generally quite wealthy, but we have fewer high-end restaurants than Prospect Heights or Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill.

I have a friend opening a higher end place, but everyone has told to avoid park slope - given the average home value id have thought we’d be a great neighborhood for that?

not a criticism of the great places we do have.

Clarification of general meeting vote rules - who gets to vote?

In this upcoming meeting, who is actually able to vote? In person? In person + zoom? Does the vote go out to the entire membership digitally?

It seems like a pretty strong disenfranchisement if all members of the coop are not allowed to vote, especially given I'd guess everyone in this community is in favor of early voting and mail in ballots in government elections.

The battery is a very interesting solution to the power delivery problem – One thing I've been trying to find more information on is what the power curve ramp down looks like over extended use. At some amount of us, that battery is exhausted, and I assume the cooktop can no longer deliver 10 kW per point source?

I'm quite interested in the core technology. For our renovation, we're going to be putting in a different brand 36-inch and a gas wok burner next to it, but would be very interested in a single burner Impulse powered replacement for that gas one someday.

Edit: I seem to have accidently kicked a hornet's nest with this question, so to add some context there are plenty of cooking situations when one can run 4 burners at 90-100% capacity for hours (thanksgiving, for example) and while this may not be a daily use case, I'm just trying to understand what the tradeoffs, limitations, and yes, advantages are of this design vs a more traditional one.

The battery does not have sufficient duration for a professional kitchen obviously (nor is it targeted at that use case, makes total sense). So I'm trying to understand where that changeover point is.
