BDS at food coop

People protesting the BDS bill being introduced at the food coop- are you not ashamed? Three years into a genocide labeled that by every legitimate human rights organization- you’re gonna keep flaunting support for apartheid Israel? It’s embarrassing. Anyway, vote for BDS at the food coop. Tell your friends to do the same.
History will not be kind to those in favor for apartheid, ethnic cleansing, war and genocide

If you know who is putting in noise complaints against Gingers it is your job to hit them at least medium hard.

I mean it. Put your body between jerks and this institution. Listen out for neighbors who complain and question them. This was such a sad dumb this to read today. As a hipster gentrifier, we need to do better in the white-lands of bk.

zionists at the food coop

In the last few days I’ve been approached by Zionists in front of the food coop lobbying against a BDS bill for being passed next week for the coop. The Zionists are passing out “anti polarization” flyers that are confusingly phrased and do not address Israel’s genocide at all.
I asked one guy who approached me “how many human rights organizations have to call it a genocide before you accept it for what it is?” He said something about how all human rights organizations were biased against Israel.
All to say, if anyone is or knows members of the coop, tell them to vote in favor of the boycott bill on May 26 at the general meeting.

Park Slope is horrific during evening rush hour.

I went for a walk at 6 pm yesterday and it was hell on Earth. Specifically, because of the cars. Every avenue gets backed up and clogged; cars are blocking the crosswalks because they can't proceed but still pull up and oh god the honking. There are clearly more cars than the road can support, so what the fuck is honking going to accomplish? If they could move, they would. And where the hell is everyone even going since they are all going towards Flatbush seemingly?

And before I'm accused of being anti-car, I actually foolishly own one in this neighborhood too! But I only use it once every 2 weeks maybe.

USPS misdelivering packages

Are you guys having problems with USPS marking packages as delivered that never show up?

Almost every Amazon package sent using USPS in the past few months has been like this for me. One time someone dropped one off so I'm guessing they're just getting dumped at random addresses.

I'm not sure what's going on but there doesn't seem to be any way to escalate with the post office that gets a human response. Does my mail carrier just hate me?

A move to park slope on flatbush

Hey there! Have lived on a quiet block in clinton hill for a few years. Loved it. Just saw an apartment on flatbush near bergen st. Had a few questions, and would love to hear your thoughts on my situation at large.

-How loud/active is flatbush? Haven’t spent much time here, but tons of construction going on rn so it was hard to gauge. Also close to barclays obviously

-I know park slope is notorious for young families, which is great? How would I fare as a recently single 26 y/o? Is it really that family centric? I’m assuming less so than advertised.

-Have heard bad things about having a car in park slope? Is it really worse than the rest of brooklyn? (Traffic, hard to find parking, etc.)??

Any other thoughts? Thank you!!!!

Gatekeepers, I understand your impulses, but you’re not stopping anyone from moving anyone into your cherished neighborhood that isn’t whatsoever under the radar.

June Hobby Guide: looking to fill some gaps...

I've gotten some great input from Bushwick redditors in the past, so please let me know if you have any hobby happenings (dj classes, mahjong workshops, pickleball clinics etc) coming up that I can include in next month's roundup!

I tend to only include experiences that will really help someone dive into a new hobby and gain enough skill/community to feel equipped to keep going, but you know of shorter experiences (less than 2 hours), I can still include those in the weekly emails.

Thanks in advance 😄

Mia's Bakery?

I know this is technically not Park Slope but I wasn't sure where else to put it.

I've been meaning to try Mia's Bakery for quite a while but I've noticed even when I check in the mornings they say they are sold out of things which I find odd because since they are a bakery don't they bake every day?

how could they be out of so many things at 10:30 in the morning?

Also, has anybody ever got a anything from them and are they good? Thank you

Today’s humiliation ritual: spending hours trying to find a decent cleaning service in the area

Before yall come at me with “search this sub first,” I’ve been trying with no luck. Tried calling Si Se Puede, amongst other services (Novanna Cleaning), and nobody is answering the phone??

I would absolutely loveeee for recommendations for a detailed-oriented cleaner who specializes in DEEEEP cleans and is reasonably priced. 1bed 1bath approx 700 sq ft. Budget is $250 for a one-time clean. Please DM me, I would very much appreciate it!

Thank you so much my wonderful neighbors!!
