My ideal cast for 'Heat 2'

My ideal cast for 'Heat 2'

Obviously, the recent news seems pretty certain about DiCaprio, Bale and Graham taking these roles, but I can't get over how strong the resemblance is between these actors and those in the original film, especially since the younger actors are all pretty age-appropriate for the 1988 portions of the story. C'est la vie.

I really enjoyed the novel. Can't wait to see what Mann will do with the film.

Illustration of Paul Westerberg (1996)

Stumbled upon this in an issue of Entertainment Weekly in 1996, around the time that 'Eventually' was released. Thought you all might enjoy having a hi-res scan of it. The scratches are part of the original artwork.

Jeff Tremaine on Filming in Public

Here’s Tremaine on Rachel’s podcast in Sept 2024. Given his love for filming in public and the limitations for the OG guys when it comes to physical stuff these days, I would’ve thought Best and Last would’ve involved more pranks on both the cast and unsuspecting bystanders. It also seems like a way to potentially let the younger cast shine and show more of their personalities. Since it wasn’t a pandemic preventing it, I wonder why they didn’t lean into it. Or maybe they did film some and it didn’t make the cut?

Newly-framed 'Dragon Tattoo' Postcards

I found these Australian 4x6" postcards on eBay and got them into a 9x12" frame today. Really happy with how they turned out in a double-opening mat!

For anyone interested, the seller currently has 2 more of this pair available. I won't link directly in case that's an issue, but they should be easy to find.

Any recordings of "Full Circle" from Nautica Stage - Cleveland, OH (06.14.2000)?

Supposedly, this is the only time that "Full Circle" has ever been performed live. I've searched high and low but can't seem to find any recordings anywhere. Would love to hear it if anyone knows of any!

Actress replaced during Ace Ventura: When Natures Calls?

Stumbled upon this tidbit in a magazine from 1995, but I can't seem to find any more info elsewhere. Assuming it was for the Wachati Princess (played by Sophie Okonedo), anyone ever heard who else might've been originally cast for the role?

Spotted mention of a secretive MTV project called "Jack Ass" in this Spike Jonze profile from Entertainment Weekly in Dec '99 (last paragraph.)

Searched and didn't see this posted in here. Couldn't help but notice that Trent describes 'Year Zero' as being "written and recorded ... in hotel rooms, buses, backstage closets, etc." after he recently told Rolling Stone that NINz was recorded "all over the place — some of it’s live, some in studios, hotels, planes, etc..”
