I picked up an amazing MCM Hi-Fi stand and HPM-40’s today. Not sure everything is in the final position yet, but this will do for now. The L26’s fit perfectly.
I’m liking the 40’s but not sure they will replace the ADS L780/2’s (not pictured).

Pioneer CT-F9191
This one needed a bit of work to get back in action, but it was definitely worth the effort. It’s still a bit temperamental with certain cassettes, but it sounds wonderful. Who doesn’t love a little SRV?
You can see his cousin in the second pic. Tape saturation is a very cool thing.

I picked up this gorgeous Akai GX-260D with the smoked dust cover and manuals for a really good price. I was excited to get home and get it hooked up. 30 minutes in, I heard the POP and smelled the unmistakable aroma of a capacitor shedding its mortal coil.
One of the caps on the condenser board failed and the rest weren’t looking too great. Luckily the board was pretty easy to access. My father used to service tube TV’s as a hobby when I was a kid. I was able to coax him and his soldering gun out of retirement.
Condenser board is recapped and the deck is back in business. This thing is so cool. It’s like Darth Vader’s RTR with the cover on. It sounds as good as it looks, too.

Took some time this past weekend and did a little refresh in these old cabinets. Some of the war wounds remain, but I like the story they tell.
Took a bit to get this one back in action, but my $3 Miami Vice cassette sounds great!
