I ride a Mistral road bike and mostly do long road rides. I may participate in some local races in the future, but right now I'm just looking to learn and get comfortable with clipless pedals.

My budget is around ₹5,000 for the entire setup (shoes + pedals + cleats if possible).

I know Decathlon has some cycling shoes, but are there any cheaper beginner-friendly options that you'd recommend? Is it worth buying used Shimano shoes/pedals?

Also, for someone starting from scratch, would SPD or SPD-SL be a better choice?

Would love to hear what setup you started with and what you'd recommend on a tight budget.
