What are your favorite go-to hidden gem crowd pleaser action movies?

I run a movie night at a cigar shop in Arcadia CA. The movies are always a surprise and so far the crowd is loving my choices. Recently we watched Hard Target and Riki-O. I’m showing them the b-movie Deadly Prey next week.

I am looking for more picks for movies that deliver in every scene even if it’s unintentional. What are you’re best or even “so bad it’s good” go-to action movies that you know will kill even if those watching don’t share your love for the genre?

My favorites include the Raid films, the World’s End, Commando, Ong Bak, and Born to Fight

What are your go-to crowd pleaser “bad” movies?

Troll 2 is an obvious choice. Never Too Young To Die. Ninja 3. Born to Fight. These are some of my favorites. Please help me find more.

What’s your go-to crowd pleaser?

I run a movie night at a cigar shop on So Cal and am always on the hunt for the perfect movies to show. When you are going to pick the movie what is your go-to for one that delivers scene after scene. No long slow parts, no filler.

In the action genre I would say Commando is the ideal candidate for this. It’s not brilliant writing, it’s just a blast. Whether it’s funny ridiculous or awesome basically every scene delivers.

In kung fu films my first thoughts would be the Raid movies or Kung Fu Hustle. But I want some real hidden gems.

What about you? What are your favorite kung fu films to surprise people with on movie night?
