Nail Help!

Hi! I’ve recently started doing my own gel nails and I’m struggling to get them to last more than a few days.

The gel basically peels/lifts off from the bottom of the nail in one whole piece, rather than chipping away. It almost comes off like a false nail when I bend/lift it at the bottom.

My current prep/application is:
- Push back cuticles
- Lightly buff the natural nail to remove the shine
- Remove all dust
- Wipe with isopropyl alcohol
- Apply nail dehydrator
- Apply base coat
- Cure
-2 thin coats of colour, curing between each
Top coat and cure

I originally thought I wasn’t roughening the nail enough, so I was using a drill to rough up the natural nail, but I’ve stopped doing that because I don’t want to damage my nails.

All of my gel products are from SHEIN. My lamp is also from SHEIN and is one of those tiny pen-style lamps that can only cure one finger at a time.

Any advice would be massively appreciated! I’m just trying to get them to last more than 3-4 days 😂

Engagement Ring Consultation - What Should We Expect?

Hello!

My partner & I are going to Hatton Garden tomorrow to visit a few jewellers and look around at some rings. We’ve booked 3 consultations with the shops we are most interested in. I have some questions beforehand!

  1. I’ve left 1hr between appointments and now, after researching, I’m slightly concerned it’s not enough time. They are all 1 min walk from eachother, but is an hour enough time?

  2. What can we expect? I’m not quite sure what is discussed, what I need to say, etc. I’ve provided reference pics and budget.

  3. Do I tell them we’re looking at others and be transparent? We’re hoping we will go and fall in love with one, but not sure if we should be honest about the fact we are seeing others.

Thanks in advance

Shoe recommendation for beginner!

Hello!

I’m hoping to get some advice from people who actually know what they’re doing because I’m a bit lost. I’ve recently started ice skating more (25F) and I really enjoy it - I’ve been a few times now and I’d like to keep going maybe once a month (i live far away). The problem is rental skates are absolutely wrecking my feet. They dig in really badly and I end up with blisters and a lot of pain, especially around the sides.

I think part of the issue is I have quite wide / “fat” feet, so most of the rental skates feel really tight and uncomfortable no matter how I lace them.

I’m now looking at buying my own skates to improve comfort (I don’t care too much about how I skate!) and I’ve seen a pair of Nevica ice skates on sale (down from about £65 to £33). I’m a beginner so I don’t need anything fancy, but I do want something that won’t destroy my feet. I really won’t be going often so I don’t want to spend a lot of money.

Any tips? Would these ones be ok? Or am I best to get some second hand ones from vinted?
