Trying this out for the first time
Looking for a genuine rishta — Lahore, 25F
Assalamu alaikum. I’m 25F, 5'6, from Lahore and currently completing the last of my ACCA exams. I have also worked for a few months, but I decided to leave my job temporarily to focus properly on completing my studies. I do intend to work again and continue my career after my exams, so having a partner who is supportive of that is important to me.
A little about me: I come from a divorced family. I know there can unfortunately be a stigma attached to this, and I won’t pretend that growing up in that situation was always easy. It had its struggles and affected me emotionally to some extent, but I don’t believe it defines me or the kind of family/person I can be. I’ve grown up to be quite warm, loving, understanding and family-oriented.
Personality-wise, I’m definitely an emotional person and a bit of an overthinker. I can cry over the smallest, stupidest things sometimes 😭, and I get scared easily too. But I’m also someone who cares very deeply about the people I love and tends to be very understanding and affectionate with them.
I also love having conversations and I'm a bit of a yapper. I love sharing everything about myself and my thoughts and feelings and i also genuinely adore communication for anything as i think being open about all is the key to alot of things.
I have one older brother who is married and a younger sister who is still studying.
Physically, I’m currently a little overweight, and I’m actively working on becoming healthier and losing weight. I mention this because I’d rather be upfront about it than pretend otherwise.
When it comes to religion, I’m actively trying to become a better Muslim. I try my best to pray five times a day, and I’m learning to read the Quran with translation because I want to understand my religion better. I’m not looking for someone who considers himself perfect religiously, but I do want someone who is genuinely trying to improve himself and grow closer to Allah as well.
As for what I’m looking for, ideally someone around 25–30 who is emotionally mature, kind, understanding and genuinely wants to build a good marriage. Someone who communicates, respects his partner, values family, and understands that marriage is about being partners through both the good and difficult parts of life.
I ideally want someone from Lahore as i want to stay near my family. I can look into middle east rishtas too given their hometown is Lahore. I myself lived my entire life in Saudia and in the last 3 years relocated to Lahore.
I would ideally prefer someone from Lahore’s more established/posh areas, although I’m not completely rigid about location if the person and family are a good fit.
Most importantly, I’m looking for a genuine life partner; someone I can feel safe with, laugh with, talk to about everything, and grow with. I want someone who can look beyond circumstances and see the person I am.
