Bed size for sand?

Does anyone know what the bed size is for Sand at Victory Village?

Cuz I know its diffent than the usual twin xl, and I figured i'd buy the sheets over summer while had time. Ive checked the website and while it says double bed, they havent given any measurements, witch means it would either be a queen or a standard double-

Maya rig root control scaling issue - bind controls not scaling with the rest of the rig

I'm currently working with a character rig for a rigging class, and I'm running into an issue with the root control scaling.

In the expected behavior shown by my professor, scaling the root control causes both the main (big circle) controls and the bind controls (smaller sicrcles) to scale together.

However, in my scene, scaling the root control only affects the main animator controls. The bind controls/joints remain the same size, which makes me think something in the rig hierarchy or setup is different.

I've checked the root control and compared it with the expected behavior, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

Is this controlled by a specific constraint, hierarchy setup, scale connection, or attribute that I might be missing?Any advice would be appreciated. I'm still learning rigging, so I'm interested in understanding why this happens rather than just patching it.

Edit/clarification:

I should clarify that by "bind controls" I mean the bind joints. I was instructed to parent the control shapes directly onto the bind joints for this setup.

The issue is that when scaling the root control, the animator controls scale correctly, but the bind joints/control shapes do not change size. In the expected version, the bind joint controls also scale with the rest of the rig.

I'm wondering if this is related to the joint hierarchy, scale inheritance, or how the control shapes were parented to the joints.

Where can I get some good quality free models for rigging?

I'm currently learning the basics of character rigging in Maya, focusing on things like FK chains, IK arms, controls, constraints, and general rigging workflows.

I've found plenty of tutorials, but I'm struggling to find good models to practice on. A lot of the free models I've downloaded either have unsuitable topology, aren't in a rigging-friendly pose, or have geometry issues that make them difficult to use as learning assets.

Does anyone know of good sources for free (or inexpensive) models specifically suited for rigging practice?

I'm mainly looking for:

-Human body parts (arms, hands, legs)
-Simple full-body characters
-Creatures and quadrupeds
-Models with reasonably clean topology

Any recommendations for websites, libraries, or specific models would be greatly appreciated.

Maya Rigging Help: Ostrich Neck Controls Are Difficult to Pose

Hey, so I'm trying to improve an ostrich rig that I'll be using in an upcoming creature animation course.

*Edit - I also wanted to say that I have 0 prior rigging experience, or if anything, close to 0. This isn't me asking for easy solutions, just me letting you know that I might ask some stupid questions*

The neck currently feels very difficult to pose and animate. In the attached screen recording, you can see the behavior I'm struggling with. The controls technically work, but getting clean neck poses requires significantly more effort than expected, and the motion often feels unpredictable.

I want to identify the rigging approach used here and whether common solutions or improvements could make the neck more "animator-friendly". I'm not the original creator of the rig. It was created by my professor, who gave me permission to check and potentially improve it for her classes (which I'm gonna take eventually, so it'll make my life easier too).

Any insight into likely causes or recommended approaches would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi! Idk if any of you would have seen my post yesterday where I asked for feedback on a walk cycle, but today I've attempted a run cycle. I'm doing it all at this pace to both test myself/force myself to animate faster, as well as to later learn how to go from a Walk -> Run -> Sprint

This SyncSketch Link has my run cycle, but also my updated walk cycle post feedback below the run cycle.

Hey! So Im planning on learning how to go from a walk to a run, and I just got this rig, so I thought I'd try it out with him. I figured I'd start by getting good walk and run cycles first, and here's what I've had so far for the walk

I just want to know if it's a good idea?
I'll be taking 390 in the fall of my junior year, at least I want to, and he seems to be both the most and least popular option of them all

I know nothing about the guy, so I thought I'd ask

Also thoughts on taking 390 with creatures? since ive been told to take 2 lectures when i take 353, and I'm not sure if 390 counts as a lecture or not-
